Isaac or Isaäc

Hi,

We're not Dutch (we're from South America) but we've been living in the Netherlands for 5 years now and we're expecting our second child. We're thinking of the name Isaac for him. But we're not sure if it should be spelled Isaäc. Maybe someone can help us out here.

We'd also like him to have an international name or a name that's well-known in an international setting.

What do you think of this name? And how should we spell it?

Thanks.

I'd say Isaac, but what's the reason for the dots above the a? Do you pronounce it differently then?

    I'd go for Isaac.

    Hi Adriana,

I know the name Isaac from the Bible, and then without dots (what's that called again?) on the last A.
I think it's a well-known name and not weird at all,
Well, I think nowadays there are hardly any unusual names that people haven't heard before.
And if you find it beautiful and agree on it, I'd say just go for it!

    Greetings, Dani

I think it's a beautiful name, it works for all ages and I also find it really cool and masculine

My little brother is named Isaac. But personally, I think Izaak or Izak are much cooler.

Isaäc, does it sound like: Isaa+ak?
