Overdue and period..

Good evening...
8 months ago I stopped the pill because my husband and I want a baby.
Last 2-3 months regular cycle of 28 days. Last week I tested on day 2 after my period was due because my period didn't start and yes positive (tested 3 times, faint line Kruidvat 5 euro test).
I had symptoms too.. nausea and tiredness.
Yesterday on day 4 I got stomach pain, stabbing etc.. then a small, really mini bit of brown blood.
This morning a bit of brown blood again and on the way to work severe stomach pain.. once I arrived at work, I started leaking and so had my period accompanied by severe cramps.. I felt lightheaded.
The stomach pain is still there now.. not very severe but more severe than usual..

What do you think? Were the faint lines not positive after all? Or an early miscarriage? And what steps should I take now? All stories/tips are welcome.

It sounds like an early miscarriage, given the intense cramps and faint positive tests.
With my second miscarriage, the tests also stayed faint and the symptoms I'd barely had disappeared very quickly. I also had this feeling that something wasn't right, but I couldn't put my finger on it. Until 2 days before the first ultrasound at 8 weeks, I had bleeding but it didn't continue, so we waited for the ultrasound and, sure enough, an empty gestational sac. So then everything fell into place and 2 days later the miscarriage started.

I don't think they'll do an ultrasound now, but keep an eye on whether you continue to bleed and test again in a few days to see if you get a negative result.

Thank you so much, Kirsten, for your reply!
It's my first time going through this and I've found it really overwhelming. But now that I'm reading your story, it feels like I'm not alone anymore. Thank you!
I'll contact my doctor on Monday about the next steps. I think a check-up wouldn't hurt.
My period is still going on... so I guess it's an early miscarriage. :-(

Believe me Nina, you're definitely not alone! I've gone through it twice myself, and it's really intense, indeed. I thought that too the first time, because there's also a sort of taboo around talking about miscarriages, but pretty quickly I realized that it actually happens quite often, unfortunately. Good idea to call your doctor anyway, about how and what. Strength, girl!

Hi! I didn’t have any bleeding during my first implantation, but I had really, really bad cramps! I thought every time I was going to get my period, but no, that lasted about a week and happened once a day at other times. I give driving lessons, and it always happened during my last lesson of the day, whether it was at 4 pm or 8 pm. It felt like I had to stop. It got really scary; the road seemed to blur, I started sweating, and I almost threw up from the pain. Apparently, that was the implantation, because a week later I tested positive. I hope for you that the bleeding was implantation bleeding, which would explain why you had so much cramping. Strength!

    Yes, I have that too!
Feeling completely nauseous and almost throwing up.. went back from work to home.
Unfortunately, the bleeding continues and is more intense than usual.. I'm afraid of bad news..
    Are you already pregnant again?

    Love,
    Nina.
