Early miscarriage, take note! Photo added

Baby05
I just had an early miscarriage. I'm just wondering if this is really a 4-week embryo? The little ball is 2 cm big. Does anyone know how far along I was?

    What sad news
Unfortunately, I don't know anything about it here and can't help you.

@Ike88, yes, indeed, it's sad. Last month I lost a triplet. They were much smaller, but the embryos were clearly visible.

    Now I've googled and read:

"Now I'm reading online that the embryo should be 2 cm at 8 weeks."

    ...

Since there were questions about its size, I just added a cm here.
Are we going to bury it now.

Baby05, first of all, lots of strength. You can clearly see it's a little boy. Second, this might be a really silly question, but if you had a miscarriage last month of a triplet and you've now lost one, wouldn't that mean you were pregnant with quadruplets? Or am I just thinking weirdly?

Mamavan4 I think you're right because a 4-week-old fetus isn't that big!! It was probably a quadruplet, wow... lots of strength to you!!

Mamavan4, yes indeed it was a quadruplet... really intense, this.
    Thanks for your reply.

@ Bibi you're right, it was a quadruplet.

I really want to get an ultrasound tomorrow at the midwife's to see if everything is clear now...

    Indeed, that's intense! Strength!

    Thank you, Mamavan4.

That means you didn't have an official practice round last cycle while you were still "pregnant," right? Or did you ovulate anyway?
  10. Baby05 started this #11

Well, Clautjuh, we didn't use ovulation tests by chance. I wanted to try without them this cycle, not knowing I was already pregnant with a fourth. So no, the last cycle was kind of an unofficial practice round. Looking back on it.
I guess that means I didn't ovulate, Clautjuh?
  11. Clautjuh #12

No, I don't think so either. But you don't want to do one more real practice round, do you? Because you mentioned wanting to go on the pill. If this round wasn't successful.

We were sooooooo close, and then this happens. And then, seeing all those little embryos, so beautiful, so fragile... yeah, I think we'll try one more time, the final round. Funny enough, we were just talking about that today.
  13. Clautjuh #14

Yeah, that's why! If you've already had a spot and maybe you're ovulating again soon. But I'm not sure if ovulation tests are reliable right now. Mine are still positive 12 days after my period. But I don't think I've ovulated yet. I'll find out on Thursday at 4:30 PM when I have an ultrasound. Then I'll know if everything is clear. I've ordered pregnancy tests, which I hope would show a fainter line now. Or even negative.

Yeah, I'm also going to ask my GP for an ultrasound. Hope that works out, then I'll know for sure that I'm clear.
And that ovulation next time, I don't know when you can actually expect an ovulation after a miscarriage?
Geez, 12 days after your period and you're still positive? Are you sure you've lost it? Did you see a gestational sac, how far along were you? Wow... what a lot of questions.
    Not nice, is it, Clautjuh?
  15. Jenny00 #16

Baby05, so sad to hear you had a miscarriage (and then also of a 3/4-liner)
I myself lost a baby 2 years ago at almost 9 weeks due to a missed abortion, but I never found out. It's really special to see this for me.. and what you say, so fragile..
I wish you lots of strength with your loss and a big hug!

Thank you so much, Jenny00, I wasn't sure at first whether to share it, but I thought... yeah, this is part of it too. It does happen.
You never forget a miscarriage. So sad for everyone.

Clautjuh, do you still have pregnancy symptoms too?
I mean, I still have all of them...
  18. Clautjuh #19

I was 4 weeks and 3 days with that bleeding. But then my tests kept going up. So I might have had a miscarriage at 5 weeks too. I don't have many symptoms. Only feeling nauseous faster when I eat too much.
I only lost blood, no baby or anything. That's why I'm going for an ultrasound anyway.

Then you still have a chance of being pregnant! That would be great, seriously!!! Exciting, right, that ultrasound on Thursday.
Let us know here right away what it turned out to be, what they said, etc.?
