19 and pregnant?

Hi, I'm Maria and I'm 19. In the first week, I missed the pill once and only realized the next day after having unprotected sex with my boyfriend. I took the morning-after pill within 72 hours, then continued with the pack as normal. In week 3, I missed another pill. So I finished the pack instead of starting the break immediately or skipping it. I had unprotected sex on the first day of the break (Tuesday). Now it's Friday and I still haven't gotten my period. Do I need a pregnancy test?

Kisses.

It can't hurt to take a test so you have certainty. The chance seems very small to me that you're pregnant, but you never know. When do you normally get your period if you're at the end of your cycle?

    Thanks for the reply!
Normally, I always get my period on the third day, but it’s already the 4th day. (The times I had unprotected sex were before we left the church) but still not safe..

Wait a few more days, and if needed, test it out. Good luck!

hey, just to be clear.. 'leaving the church before the singing ends' is not 'safe'. Namely, you can get pregnant from the man's pre-cum! But I don't want to scare you or anything, the best thing is to just test it out. I found out myself 3 days ago that I'm pregnant. Only after not taking the pill for a year..

Or can I maybe get the MAP? It's pretty risky because I don't know when the unsafe moment was. Tuesday or in the third week. I come from a Christian family where this is taboo to discuss, which is why I asked here. But thanks!

I’d first test to see if you’re even pregnant. The chance is really small. You should already see something on a test by now. That way you can get rid of that uncertainty right away.

Why do you take the pill when you can't handle it anyway?
  8. Hartje #9

Indeed. I think she should know better if she comes from a Christian family. If she follows their rules, there’s never any stress. That way, people who don’t know these families well get a beautifully positive image of them (not so). Use your common sense, Maria, you were there yourself!

What such blunt, inappropriate responses from Anoniem and Hartje. She simply asks a question and nowhere does it say that the question is about her religious background. She knows herself that she was there herself so keep your prejudices to yourselves.

On topic.. I think the chance is small, girl. But for the sake of your peace of mind, I would get tested. Good luck!

You're right, mamaN. I just hope she learns from it so she doesn't get stressed again; that doesn't seem nice, especially since she says she can't share this well with people around her.

I sometimes forget to take my pill too, I've never had an unplanned pregnancy from it, but forgetting is human, right?
I hope you've got some clarity by now, Maria.

It's not rude. She's 19. Not a 15-year-old girl. If you can't handle the pill, think going out to sing in church is safe, and despite forgetting the pill, you still have sex without a condom, then you're being stupid. A shot or IUD might be a better solution. This is really crying with a hat on.
  13. MamaN #14

Just to clarify, her question wasn’t whether she was being silly or whether you think she can’t handle the pill. She also said herself, “it’s not safe until you’re out of church,” anonymously. Maybe it’s useful if you read the whole story properly.
Exactly what Clautjuh said, those kinds of things are human. But indeed, as Hartje mentioned, it’s tough that she can’t share it with anyone around her. So hopefully, a negative test.

Oh, so you're 19... I'm 38 and still learning from my mistakes.

Anonymous is, I think, perfect, Clautjuh

I got my period yesterday, so I’m happy. But I was told I could still be pregnant because bleeding while on the pill isn’t the same as a real period. I’ve only recently been forgetting my pill sometimes, and I’m switching to the injection pill because of this. Still, the question is: should I test anyway, despite the breakthrough bleeding?

    * I meant bleeding during the placebo week (instead of withdrawal bleeding) - wrong term
  18. Clautjuh #19

Just test it for extra peace of mind. Then you can be sure. I guess you're not pregnant, but you want to be sure, right? Good luck!

If you have bright red blood and it's a normal amount, so not just a little, you can assume you're not pregnant. To put your mind at ease, you could take a test, but it's likely to be negative! Good luck!
