Hi! We've been trying to get pregnant for a while now. Last month was the first time we really timed things with my ovulation. I should be getting my period within 7 days. But now I've got a vaginal yeast infection... The last time I had this was 4 years ago after taking antibiotics. I haven't taken any antibiotics this time. Could I be pregnant, or does this have nothing to do with it?

Taking a pregnancy test seems like the easiest way to get an answer. Good luck!

If you get your period just 7 days after ovulation, I wonder if you could really be pregnant. That’s a pretty short timeframe. It’s possible, sure, but the chance of being pregnant with such a short window is really slim.

It could also be that you’re getting a yeast infection after implantation. In that case, I’d just wait a few more days—ideally until at least 10 days past ovulation—before taking an early test.

skybles, I don't mean that my period comes 7 days after ovulation. I mean that I still have 7 days to wait before my period is due. My ovulation was on November 26.
It just feels a bit weird that I now have a yeast infection, which I never get. But yeah, when you're trying to get pregnant, you tend to connect everything to pregnancy. That's why I wanted to hear if this could be a sign or not... x

Hi Lucky, that sounds a bit harsh. When you're pregnant, your egg has just implanted or will do so soon, so developing an infection that quickly seems a bit strange to me, but who knows? Your immune system is indeed lower during pregnancy, which means you're more prone to yeast infections or, for example, bladder infections, but I wonder if it could happen that quickly.. Every round is possible though. For example, I had a sore throat around ovulation/conception (in both pregnancies). You just don't know. Be patient a little longer, then you can test.

    And Lucky? Already tested?

Hey, no, not tested yet, I'm waiting. Normally my period should be tomorrow but I don't feel anything yet..

Just a quick update in between. Normally I should have gotten my period yesterday, but that hasn't happened yet. This is the first time I'm overdue, so it could be a sign I'm going to pick up a pregnancy test today (if the snow stops, at least) and we'll see tomorrow morning

Good luck!! I hope you see two lines! I was in your situation myself; I was so sure I was pregnant because of the yeast infection, but it didn't work out that way for me. I was pregnant 4 cycles after that yeast infection!
