What does "typical boy mom" or "girl mom" mean?

Hi ladies, I was wondering what people actually mean when they say things like "oh, I'm really a girl mom" or "I'm a real boy mom." Personally, I have 3 girls and 1 boy. But even before I had kids, I always really wanted a boy, at least one boy. So I got my girls first, and recently my fourth child turned out to be a boy. But I have to say my girls are truly sweet treasures, and I'm absolutely thrilled with them. I really enjoy them immensely, their little sayings, the way they act Only, I also think it's super cool now that my wish for a boy has come true. But now, when someone asks me, "Are you like a typical boy mom?" or "Do you feel that way?" meaning you had such a big wish for a son and imagined yourself with a son... Well, no, I don't really know about that, because I also enjoy my girls. I'm just not so good at braiding and making ponytails and all that. Luckily, my husband is, haha. But now my question might be a bit weird, but I was just curious

    Haha, you're funny, anon!
Humor is when you have nothing meaningful to say, so why would you even respond?

What an interesting question. Honestly, I wouldn't know either. I have three boys and would really love to have a girl too. But whether I'm a typical boy mom? No idea. I do play around a lot with them and really challenge them to be active. They definitely don't know what it's like to be treated gently by their mom, hahaha. On the other hand, I also love spoiling them, doing crafts, and other 'girl' things with my boys. I'm really curious about the answer to your question, hope it comes soon

    Thanks for your reply, star
    Nice explanation, and also humorous.
So it seems I’m not the only one who finds it hard to really understand this term haha.
I’m curious whether, as our boy gets older, I’ll notice that it’s true and that I indeed find boys super fun and easy.
Because that’s what I always thought before having kids.
Anyway, I already think our boy is really cool.
But I’m also really enjoying our girls.
I’m also curious whether it’s true that there’s less drama and that it’s easier with a boy for me, as I always thought.

I have two boys myself but come from a family of girls, so I didn't know anything other than "girls." When I heard the oldest was a boy, I thought, okay, what do I do with this? I only knew pink, pink, pink! I still went looking for dresses during my pregnancy. Haha, but I basically became a "boy mom" on my own. Now I automatically gravitate toward boy toys and have lost interest in pink. So I guess that's what they mean? That I've naturally become a boy mom? No idea if that'll change when I have a girl too

Thanks, Mama N, for your reply!
Yeah, maybe it really works out that way indeed.
You just naturally get into it with what you have
I myself feel really happy with our little one now, even though he's only 4 months old.
I'm already fantasizing about playing trains with him.
It's funny how he'll grow up in a family of girls
I never used to fantasize about such things with my girls, like playing with dolls, for example.
I think my husband is a real "girls' dad" – he bakes cakes with them and does their hair when I'm at work.
    And buys clothes with them.
But of course, I've never seen him with a son.
Anyway, it's nice to hear from others what they mean under this term.

Hi hi... I'm pregnant with my third and have two boys. I keep getting asked, 'What are you hoping for? A girl, right? But you're such a boy mom!'
So annoying! Yes, I do enjoy playing with my boys, yes, they're into judo (the oldest), yes, they have a quad, yes, they love roughhousing and are just as clumsy as their mom... but does that make me a boy mom? I'd also love to mess around with nail polish and braids..
So I really don't see myself as a boy or girl mom..
I think such a thing doesn't even exist.. you grow into it.. regardless of gender..

    Greetings!
