How would you pronounce Rachel, more like Reet-sjel or just as it's written Rag-el/ul?

Hi, I’m Rachel myself, and it happens a lot that people pronounce my name in different ways. My name is pronounced like "ray-gol," but I often hear "reet-gel," "rashel," "raggel," "ray-gel," so it’s quite varied

Just in Dutch, Raa sounds like "table" (tafel)! Then I think it's a beautiful name. In English, it sounds a bit ordinary to me!

I think the name pronounced as Rah-shel is the most beautiful!
I would give that name if it weren't so hard to spell.
I really don't find the other names beautiful.

Reetsjel or Rasjel. I personally find Rasjel nicer. I also gave my daughter a name that can be pronounced in different ways, and I have to say it's really annoying. I'd think twice before doing that again.

My niece is named Rachel, pronounced like "Ragol." The name indeed has quite a few ways to be pronounced, but once you explain it to people once, they get it.

I find it awful when people pronounce it as Raagol. Sounds so tacky. Reminds me of Raagol Hazes. It's an English name, so stick to the English pronunciation.

My name is Rachel (rashel). For me, you pronounce it in the French way.

For me, you also pronounce it in the French way, but a lot of people think it's "ragel" or in the English way.

My name is pronounced Raa-shel, and what you wrote above sounds super relatable. My parents thought Rachel would be the best spelling because Rachelle would become Raa-shelluh in the north of the Netherlands... Now I'm constantly called reetshel, I don't know which is worse haha????
