Good evening! How would you pronounce the name Jules? And do you think it's more of a girl's or a boy's name?
Thanks in advance

At our place, it's pronounced like , and I've never heard it used for a girl.
Jules is also the hand puppet that's used a lot in the toddler class (Belgium).

So like Shjuul... weird that it doesn't come to mind.

Jules is a boy's name. Julie is the feminine version of it.

Both: Jules and Juul can be used for both boys and girls.
    Juuls is also an option.

Indeed Frans, so Zjuul, and a boy's name: https://www.vernoeming.nl/voornaam/jules But nowadays it's also a unisex name. The pronunciation Djuuls is its English, is it not anymore a nickname/lkoosnaam for a Julia or something? I think you have to explain to your child how you pronounce it. I also know a Juul, a boy, and there it is still: is it Zjuul, Juul, Joel? And when he was still a baby, there was often the question whether it was a boy or a girl. The mother herself was very surprised about, but I have to honestly say that I thought it all too..

I know a Jules and I really think it's a boy's name. Such a nice name! You pronounce it as Sjuul.

I'd say Zjulus / I'd say Zjulus here

You can also write it differently if you're unsure: Juul.
