Pregnancy test

Hee hee,
I have a big question. I'm 1 day overdue and took a pregnancy test this morning, which was positive with 2 very visible lines... However, I went out last night and had quite a bit of alcohol! Does that affect the test? And how many hours should I wait to test again? I've had some lower abdominal pain and a weird feeling for a few days now.
I hope you can help me

    As far as I know, there's no hCG in alcoholouty: A line is a line, so you're pregnant! Was it planned and desired? Can't you tell that from your story, though?

    Yes, it's definitely welcome. I stopped the pill in August, so it might have happened quite quickly. I'm a bit unsure because I read another topic where someone had a positive test with alcohol and a negative one without alcohol... so I'm a bit confused! I'll stop by the Kruidvat this afternoon and do another test later in the day! I feel bad that I drank yesterday, but I have a rumbling stomach all week and those sharp pains in my lower abdomen.. does that sound familiar?

    Okay, then I’ll congratulate you! Yes, a messy and prickly tummy (a bit of nagging pain) is familiar to me. I’m 5 weeks pregnant with my third and can always deduce from this that I’m pregnant. Is this your first? You know, regarding the alcohol, I wouldn’t have done it because for me, that tummy pain is a sign. But you don’t know this yet, so don’t worry too much about it now! There are also women who only find out later in their pregnancy and have had a glass of wine or a cigarette regularly before that. I’ve never heard of a positive alcohol test, but anything seems possible Good luck with the test this afternoon and I’ll also quickly pick up some folic acid (if you don’t have it yet, of course) And once again, congratulations!

    Oh wow, from the third one? How has your pregnancy been going so far? Yeah, this is my first, so all the symptoms are new haha.. hopefully the test will be positive again soon! I'm also wondering how far along I am and do I need to call my GP or how does that work?
    I find it sooo exciting, I'll let you know how the test goes later!

    Yes, the third one! Haha, unplanned but so welcome!! Yes, so far so good, but indeed the belly pain, right.. and what I have now and don't recognize are heartburn and nausea Haha. Hmm, let me think, this pregnancy went through the GP for me because I had an hcg injection since I was on the pill. But I think you can generally register yourself with the midwife after a positive home test, okay! Yes, exciting! Let me know!!

    And yep, another positive test with 2 thick lines! And it's been 12 hours anyway since I had any alcohol, so it'll probably be mostly out of my system, I hope
    I'll take one more tomorrow morning just to be sure with Clear Blue, but I do think I'm really pregnant, wow! That'll surprise my boyfriend when he comes home from football haha, how did you guys tell them?

    Congratulations on your pregnancy! A friend of mine had also been drinking before that, but I wouldn't do it anymore from now on, haha. And make sure to mention it to your midwife if you've had multiple nights of drinking, just to ask how things are going!

    Oh, there are so many fun ways to tell them... a little book, or a romper or socks with "I love dad." Wrap up the test. Or just tell them with all your joy!

    Yeah, I'll do another Clearblue test tomorrow just to be sure and see how far along I am. If it's under 3 weeks, the embryo won't get any nutrients from the mother yet, right? Oh, I'm over the moon! But still a bit unsure if it's really true...
    And alcohol? No way, I won't be touching that for the next year anyway, haha.

    Hi Anonymous, congratulations! You should do the CB test first thing in the morning with your first urine. If it's positive, you can call your midwife right away to make an appointment. That's so exciting!

    How far along are you, Merel?
    Yeah, I feel pretty bad because I had alcohol on Friday, and it's still on my mind that I might have gotten positive tests because of that, but that doesn't seem right, does it? I did two tests on Saturday, both positive, and then a Clearblue on Sunday morning, also positive... When did you all have your first appointment?

    Alcohol really has nothing to do with it, you're just pregnant! I'm waiting for my period, we'd really like another little one!

    Because I'm breastfeeding, I don't know yet. I hope I find out soon, or get to hold a positive test! It's pretty tricky, but since this month we've been having sex every other day as much as possible!
