Want for a second child, but still not brave enough to test. Does this sound familiar?

It’s been almost a week since my NOD.
I really hope this time it hits! My daughter is almost 4 now, and I’m 41, so it’s probably about time.
Still, I don’t dare to test.
Now that the possibility is suddenly closer, I remember the broken nights, which were extreme at first, but they’re still not completely gone. And then I wonder if we can even do this again—we’re already so tired NOW!
But on the other hand, it would be amazing, having such a little one again... experiencing everything all over again, enjoying all the little jumps again, and having quite a bit of time anyway, since DL will be going to school...

Does it sound familiar, not daring to test because you’re not sure if you can handle the disappointment of “not pregnant,” while at the same time being afraid of “pregnant”?
And I haven’t even mentioned the risks you face at my age...

Hi Joyce, so relatable! My kids are 11 and 14 now, nice and independent. My partner has a 7-year-old daughter, almost 8. We've both cut the cord and decided to have a baby together anyway. But there's always that moment in my cycle where I start doubting if it's really such a good idea, and we definitely don't want those broken nights, etc. But it's all temporary, and we hope to enjoy it just like with our other kids. I hope your tests are positive soon and you can enjoy your pregnancy!

    Thanks, Clautjuh.
I still haven’t dared to test, but everything points to it being a yes. Now I’m putting it off again because of a job interview. If I’m not sure, I can’t accidentally “blow it” by telling them :-).
I hope it works out for you too soon—so exciting, with such a big age gap between the other kids.
But it’s also really nice, I heard from a friend who has that too!
