I'm pregnant with two girls and have two nieces named Anna and Eva (not twins, btw). We don't have a ton of contact, but not zero either (not sure how to explain it haha), but I just can't get those names out of my head. I've always thought they were beautiful names but always thought no, that can't be because my nieces are already named that. So I've scoured all sorts of sites for other names, but I keep coming back to Anna and Eva......
What do you think? Can it or not?
And do you have any other options? (even though I've already checked countless sites...)

Hmmm... tricky story indeed! Personally, I would choose other names. Not because the names aren't beautiful, because they certainly are. I think I wouldn't like it at all if someone from my family chose the same names. Maybe you can search/look for names that look similar, but aren't exactly the same.
    For example:
    Janne
    Janna
    Hanna
    Hanne
    Sanne
    Channa

    Eefje
    Evalie
    Evana
    Evi
Or something else short and catchy (a few of my favorites)
    - Elise
    - Iris
    - Ise
    - Tess
    - Noah
    - Lotte
    - Lina
    - Ellis
And if you still feel like you have to go for those names, then just do it. It's your choice!

I wouldn't do it either... If you had to pick just one of them now, it wouldn't stand out so much, but both... If someone tomorrow gave one of my daughters' names to their daughter, ok, that sometimes happens, but if they then also gave the name of my other daughter to their next child (or if it's a twin), I'd find that really weird...
So either two new names or one of them combined with another, e.g.
    Anna OR Eva
    & Lucy
    & Mira
& Ava (better Anna & Ava than Eva & Ava )
    & Leni
    & Sara
    & Emma
& June (I think it looks best with Eva, fits less with Anna)
    & Lotte
    & Nina
    Good luck!

Hi girl, everyone advises against it, and so do I. It's just really not a good idea, but... if you really can't get it out of your head, there's one thing you can do, in my opinion. Just have a conversation with the parents. Let them know that you think the names are beautiful and how they feel about it if you name your kids the same. If you don't feel like having that conversation, then that's also clear: you shouldn't go for those names because once you name your kids that way, that conversation will come up anyway.

    Hey!

    I wouldn't do it either!
A few more short, sweet girl names you might like:
    Emma, Sifra, Elin, Mette, Nora?
