Can I be pregnant?

Hi everyone,
My husband and I aren't trying to get pregnant. If it happens anyway, that's fine of course.
For medical reasons, I don't use contraception.
Now, the thing is, I'm three days late, which has never happened before—I've never been late. I took a test on the second day and again today on the third, both negative. I'm getting little pimples on my face and have to pee a lot today. My breasts feel a bit bigger and my digestion is off, but otherwise, I don't have any other symptoms.
Is it possible that I could still be pregnant?

I don't know what your medical reasons are, but as long as you're not infertile, the chance is always there... I also tested positive 4-5 days after my missed period. Maybe get a blood test done?
    Good luck!

    Thanks for your reply :-)

I have an illness where I can't use contraception; it makes me feel much worse. Without contraception, I feel much better. Condoms aren't an option either, but that's a different story. I know the chance of pregnancy is always there, and in that case, we've decided it's always welcome.

And to be precise, that's not really the problem either. I'm more wondering if you can test negative and still be pregnant. Thanks to your answer, I now know that it definitely can happen. Did you test negative before the four days or not test at all!?

    Greetings

That's possible, I'd also go for a blood test.

Yeah, I started testing a few days before my due date. At first, it was negative, but when I was overdue, I tested again. This one also looked negative at first, but after 2 hours, I saw a heeeeeeel faint line (thought it was an evaporation line since it wasn't within the reading time). Eventually, I had a blood test done.

Why does everyone jump straight to a blood test? Those are really unnecessary worries (and costs). The leaflet of almost every pregnancy test says: "if you have doubts or your test result is incorrectly negative, test again 4 (or more) days later". If your test is negative, it's negative.

Or does everyone think they're part of that 0.05% who test negative but are actually pregnant?

Nope. If you test positive, you're positive. If you test negative, it can always be wrong. I had a blood test done because I tested positive way before my period in my first pregnancy, and now after my period I tested negative. It was a very faint line, but it didn't get any darker. If it would have been unnecessary, the doctor wouldn't have done it Besides, I know plenty of people who are pregnant and still test negative.

Exactly what Ann says, a blood test can have multiple reasons. They don't make it difficult for me either when I ask for a blood test for whatever reason. This has to do with miscarriages and an abnormality in my uterus. So unnecessary healthcare costs?! I pay for it, so I'll definitely use it if I have doubts about my health.
