A bit confused

Good morning,

As the title already says, I feel a bit confused.
I'll try to explain: We've been trying to get pregnant for a few months now after 9 years of pill use.
Unfortunately, the pregnancy didn't work out last month, so this month is another new attempt.
I was supposed to get my period on 07-09 but it didn't come.
On 13-09 I woke up with severe pain in my belly (never had it like that before) and brown discharge. Normally when I get my period I lose a lot of red blood, but now I only have brown discharge or very light red discharge and it's so much less than I normally lose.
On 11-09 I took a test and it was negative.
Does anyone recognize this? It's making me a bit insecure..

    Yeah, I get that you're a bit confused. But I'd just wait a week to see if it's implantation or if your period is coming. You can't do anything more, if you're still not on your period after a week, take a test. Who knows, it might already be positive. I'm rooting for you, girl.

    I wouldn't worry too much, but I'm pretty laid-back about it anyway. Give your body the chance to find its rhythm and recover, and take some rest and time. I'd agree with Chantal: take it easy, wait and see, and after a while, take another test. Very exciting, good luck!

    Thanks for your replies. I’m keeping a realistic outlook myself, but my body feels so different.
    Because of that, I just took another test because my "period" has completely disappeared and...
    I see a very faint line appearing!
    I don’t want to celebrate too early, so I’ll buy another test soon and test again tomorrow morning to see if I’m imagining things.

    @Jay-Si,
    Most likely you had an implantation bleed. So you're pregnant, and if I now read that there's a very faint line, I might be the first to congratulate you on your pregnancy... I hope you're happy about it......

    Otherwise, let me know if you're really pregnant or not....

    Just a quick update:

    Turns out I am pregnant after all!!!!
    I'm now 5.5 weeks along

    (To be honest, I’m glad I never had that uncertain implantation bleeding, and I can totally understand that you might be feeling a bit lost right now..)
