Am I pregnant?

Hi everyone,

I got my period on October 1st and it lasted about 8 days. After that, I had sex with my partner right away, and also in the following days. But what's really weird is that I started bleeding again right after my period had ended, and it lasted about 2 days. I also got white discharge. I'm not on the pill and we had unprotected sex. What does this mean? Am I pregnant??

That's pretty hard to say. I'd wait until the day you're supposed to get your period and then take a test.

But if I get my period next month, and my period usually lasts a bit long, about 8 days, when should I have sex with my partner to get pregnant? Can someone give me advice?

It depends on the length of your cycle. If your cycle is, for example, 28 days, then you ovulate on the 14th day from the first day of your period. You always ovulate 14 days before your period starts. If your cycle is 32 days, then you ovulate on the 18th day of the cycle. I don't know how long your cycle normally is or if you're always regular?

To be sure, it's best to use ovulation tests because the 14-day rule doesn't apply to everyone.

Oh, it's 14 days before your period starts. Or when you're on your period, for example, 7 days in, and then on the 14th day, that's your ovulation.

14 days before your period starts is when you ovulate, so that's when implantation happens! So the longer your cycle, the later your ovulation is. With a 28-day cycle, ovulation is on day 14; with a 34-day cycle, it's on day 20 (counting from the first day of your period). And as Skullie says, there are always exceptions to the 14-day rule, so it's best to test with ovulation tests, but those 14 days are the most accessible. Hope you get it a bit.

Yeah sorry but I think I have chicken brains, it's so hard to understand the whole thing with ovulation and implantation, but I really want to get pregnant. Can someone explain it to me in more detail maybe?

The first day of your period marks the start of a new cycle. Your cycle runs from the first day of your period until your next one. Then a new cycle begins. A cycle lasts an average of 28 days, but it can also be longer or shorter. Your most fertile days are 14 days before your period starts...
As Bibi says, find your approximate period date and you'll know when you're most fertile.
If you find it difficult to keep track, you can also use an app. This makes it easy to keep track of everything.

    Okay, decided. And which app?

I didn't find those apps very reliable, and they didn't match up for me. Based on ovulation tests, I discovered that my ovulation could sometimes shift by a few days.

Sarasara I use the Cyclus Kalender - Period tracker (Android).
Hope it helps me get some more clarity, but yeah: I'm also going to use ovulation tests (got the tip to use the ones from Sensi Test).
    Good luck!
