Big family celebration with a 6-week-old baby, is that okay?

Hi,
I have a family celebration coming up that we're invited to, but our baby will only be 6 weeks old then. I really don't think this is a good idea; I'm worried that there will be too many stimuli for him, which could increase the risk of SIDS if he falls into a deep sleep afterward. Am I just being overly cautious? What do you all think about this? And if we do go, how would you handle it? To avoid as many stimuli as possible, maybe we could find a quiet room where he can sleep?
Greetings from an unsure mom.

Hi, just gonna reply quickly. I organized a baby shower myself. My son was 5 weeks old. It was during the day, and we had a singer come, but then my mom went outside for a bit, and otherwise, it was great in the stroller. I had stressed myself out a lot beforehand but if you stay relaxed, everything will be fine. Good luck!

    Cheers

That’s totally fine for a baby. It’s good to get used to loud noises (to some extent) and a bit of commotion around them! We went on vacation with a 3-week-old baby and everyone said it was sad. It was the best decision ever!

Hi, yeah I also think that works.
This of course also depends on your child's health. Also, having the possibility for your child to sleep is a good idea. We also organized a baby party, it was a huge success with balloons and all kinds of party decorations. It was a huge success!
