    Thanks for your reply. We could also choose to write it the English way, but then "Dan" is a Dutch word, which is also confusing..

    So if I understand correctly, you just want everyone to pronounce it in English, hence the "new" spelling..?

    I think it's a name that you hear a bit too much (in my opinion), but it's okay..

    I do have to think about the pine tree too, but I find it a nice and original name

    Whether you pronounce it in English or Dutch, the pronunciation stays the same. The only thing is, Dan is also a Dutch word, and I think double N looks really nice and modern! That's why I chose this spelling. I think a lot of people will need to get used to it, but then they'll really like the name!

    ooooh.... DENNeboom... oooooh.... DENNeboom...! no, I don't think it's a nice name..! then call him dann.... and then a little dash on the a.... and dots on the last N... then you've got a really special name..!
