More than a week late, test negative.

Hi everyone,

My last period started on August 25th. Usually, I get my period 4 weeks after that, so it should have been around September 22nd. But as of today, I still haven't gotten it. I do have lower abdominal cramps, like I'm about to start.

I tested with Clearblue yesterday and it was negative. When would be the best time to test again, and which test is best? I read that some people prefer the Kruidvat ones?

It's weird because sometimes I feel like my period is coming, and other times I feel nothing at all. I've never been this late before. This uncertainty is really tough...!

Thanks in advance for your replies!

Hi Wendy, that uncertainty is definitely tough! Is your cycle normally 28 days? Or does it sometimes vary? Wait another 1 or 2 days and then take another test. If you don't get your period this week, have your GP draw some blood. That way you'll know for sure whether you're pregnant or not.

Normally it's a cycle of 28 days. I've had one cycle of 34 days, but never one of 38 days! We'll just wait and see... otherwise, indeed, maybe test again tomorrow/overmorrow.

Well, girl, my very best advice: wait for that hCG value from your blood test.
Because you could be pregnant but the hCG is rising slowly, or you're not pregnant at all, and then it's a mindfuck because your body and mind sometimes play tricks on you.
    I can tell.

    Xxx

    Hi ladies

Same here, I stopped the pill a month ago. I always had a normal cycle of 28 to 29 days.
I'm 37 now and we're trying for a third baby. I had to wait until day 9-10 to get a positive result. But today is day 13-10 and still nothing. I did 2 pregnancy tests this week, 2 for €5. But negative . I do have a lot of thirst, back pain, menstrual cramps, and nausea. Gradually, excuse my french, I lost a big mucus plug without blood. I didn't have any of this in my previous pregnancies. Then I was overdue, took tests and got pregnant.
But I'm trying to stay calm and not test constantly. I'll wait out the weekend and if I still have nothing, I'll test again.
    Good luck everybody
