Mees for a girl?

What do you think of Mees for a girl? We like short names. We first thought of Roos, but that's heard so often nowadays.. We also think Lies is very nice, a bit retro. But then we suddenly came up with Mees..
So, now the question: Roos, Lies or Mees?

I think Mees is quite cool for a girl, you know! I also like Lies. Roos is indeed a bit overused, but it remains a beautiful name. What do you think of Suus? That fits nicely into your list too .

I completely agree with Lianne. Otherwise, I also think Luus and Lot are nice options.

My former colleague's daughter is also named Mees. Nice, isn't it?

I also know a girl named Mees. I thought it was pretty unusual at first, since I actually see it more as a boy's name. But I've gotten used to it now, so it's totally fine.

Another one turning a boy's name into a girl's name. Soon people won't be able to choose a name for their son anymore.

I really like Lies! The name is definitely not outdated anymore. Roos is indeed a bit overused. And I think Mees is a great name for a girl!

I like all three names, and Mees works fine for a girl too. If you think Lies is old-fashioned, maybe you'd like Loes? It's a bit old-fashioned too, but it's more common among young girls. I still come across it sometimes. I definitely think it's a nice name!

My daughter is named Mees, after her aunt Mees, who was also named after her own aunt Mees. Mees is a nickname; the aunt's full name was Amelia. My daughter just goes by Mees and has been very happy with her name for 36 years.

Personally, I don't like Mees for a girl unless you're going for a tough vibe. When I hear Mees, I immediately think of that kids' show, "The Pocket Knife" from back in the day on Nederland3, with that boy and his dad I think Roos is beautiful; it always looks nice. I think this name never gets old. A Roos is very beautiful; I would have gone for that. Our third little princess is named Jasmijn.

    Wies maybe?
    Fem?

    Wow, that's old Sterre hahaha

I mostly know it as a last name, but if it has to be a first name anyway, I don't think it suits a girl.

Oh wow, I just realized this topic is from last year.. it's not even 25-09 yet hahaha

    Juul fits in nicely too.

I think Mees is a nice name too.
