Brown discharge

Hi everyone,
I see a lot of posts about this online, but none that exactly match what I'm experiencing. I've had brown discharge for the past week, varying from day to day. Sometimes it's redder, sometimes it's very dark, almost black. Today, there were more of those stringy bits mixed in. I also get occasional cramps or the feeling that my period is coming. According to my own calculations, I'm 8 weeks pregnant, and I have my first appointment with the gynecologist next week. I have a 15-month-old boy whom I lift often, and he's quite heavy. All of this is making me feel quite unsure and anxious.
Has anyone else experienced this, and how did it turn out?

why aren't you going to the gp tomorrow? they can check if it's nothing serious or whatever. i only know that brown discharge is old blood. i haven't had it myself so i can't really help, but if you're unsure, call your gynecologist or gp. -

I went to the ER this morning because things changed over the weekend with bleeding and needing pads. The ER was really trying to figure things out, but they did find an early pregnancy with a heartbeat. I thought I should be around 8 or 9 weeks now, but the doctor said it's 7 weeks plus a bit. It's really stressful—I'm bleeding, have a heartbeat, no pregnancy symptoms, but still a positive test. I'm incredibly confused and don't know what next week will bring. -

I didn't have any symptoms in the first 16 weeks either when I was pregnant. I already knew I was pregnant because we were trying, and after 16 weeks, I started having a lot of pelvic pain. So symptoms don't really tell you much. -

I have a feeling something went wrong today. I feel so unsure right now. The bleeding hasn't stopped yet, and this afternoon I even had a different kind of stringy discharge on my pad—slightly light pink, thick mucus. What does that mean?
Sigh, the days until the next appointment are going by so slowly. -

I wouldn't be able to tell you either. Can't you call the UK just to be sure? -
