Pregnant or not

Good afternoon,

I've been off the pill for quite a while now. I've had quite a few "post-pill" symptoms as they're called, like swollen breasts, painful nipples, stabbing pains in my stomach, and lower back pain. But despite all that, I've still gotten my period every month.

Now you might be wondering, what's your question then? Well, before, during, and after stopping the pill, I could set my clock by it: I always got my period on Thursdays. For the past few months, though, that's changed. I know that's still pretty normal, but every time it's 2 or 3 days late before I actually get my period. Each time, I do a test to make sure my body isn't delaying it due to stress. But honestly, I'm now too scared to take another test, even though I'm already over 5 days late.

I've also read that people often experience not getting their period at all after stopping the pill, without being pregnant. So my question is: should I test or wait a bit longer? And could this still be related to coming off the pill?

    Hi Stefje,
How long have you been off the pill?

If I add up the attempts now, I’ve been off the pill for about 5 or 6 months.

Tricky.. it could be either of them, girl.
Withdrawal can take a long time. But you could also be pregnant.
I'd still test just to be sure, okay... better to be sure.

This morning when I woke up, I felt incredibly nauseous and had pain in my lower back. Unfortunately, after taking the test, it turned out I'm not pregnant. But I haven't gotten my period yet, so I guess I'll just wait a few more days.

I would indeed wait a bit longer. Maybe your body needs a bit more time.
And if not, maybe test again at the end of the week?

And Stef? How are you doing now?
