Ovulation test

Verwijderd !
I became menstruating today (unfortunately), but now I still want to try using an ovulation test.

Can someone tell me when is the best time to start?
And which brand is the best?

I'd love to hear from you.

    No one ??!

I’ve used ovulation tests from Action and Zwanger & Kids. I found the dipsticks from Zw&Kids the most comfortable and clear.

Starting to test after your period depends on your cycle; this is clearly stated in the instructions. For example, if you have an average 28-day cycle, you start testing on day 11.

    Thanks for your message.

But right now I don't know anything about my cycle. Because before it was always 28 days and last month suddenly 36 days and this month 42 days...

You can take the average, or base it on your shortest cycle.

I keep track of mine in an app that calculates the average: P.C. is the name of this app

You're right, I downloaded the app. It does calculate the average, indeed. For next month it says 33 days. So I should just use the tests when the app says I'm in my fertile days, right?

Yeah, then you start testing on day 17. Just read through the manual again to be sure once you've got them at home

Thanks, I will do that. I'll go pick up those tests over the weekend.

    And you? Already pregnant?
  9. Dewii #10

No, not yet unfortunately. I stopped the pill at the beginning of this year, but it hasn't worked out yet. According to my average cycle, I'll get my period tomorrow, so fingers crossed...

Is this your first pregnancy too?

Cheer up!! Do you notice anything yet? Or do you notice nothing at all if it's supposed to happen?
Yes, for me too, it's the first baby.
Only it's taking a bit too long, when I hear from some girls that they get pregnant right away, I really think pfff how is that possible?!
  11. Dewii #12

How long have you been trying to get pregnant? It's so exciting every month! And indeed, some people get pregnant so quickly, which I secretly hoped for too, but now I'm getting impatient!

I'm not really noticing any period symptoms yet. The funny thing is that the ovulation tests (and ovulation signs) this month showed that my ovulation was only last Sunday/Monday. So if I get my period now or tomorrow, that would be very short after ovulation... we'll just have to wait and see
  12. Verwijderd ! started this #13

Now 9 months. It feels like it's taking way too long..
Yeah, really, every month is so suspenseful and then you're just waiting.

Oh, you don't mean that! Well, it would be really nice if it were successful this time! I'm really rooting for you!!
  13. Dewii #14

Yeah, I get that. Nine months is a long time when you really want something. And if only you had that certainty of knowing when it would finally work... The disappointment grows bigger each time it doesn't turn out that way.

I hope the ovulation tests help you! And the app. Maybe you've been off track all along because your cycle is so irregular, and you'll have good news soon. I really hope so for you!

Next month, I think I'll start tracking my temperature too, to get even more insight. If my LH is really that short, I can show that clearly to my GP/gynecologist.

Trying to stay positive, every month a new chance :-) I secretly found those ovulation tests quite nice too, the feeling that you can actually do something in between or something haha.

Still no period here! The number of days between ovulation and now is only 4/5 days so it doesn't mean much yet unfortunately. Really annoying not knowing where you stand!
  15. Verwijderd ! started this #16

Exactly, every month brings a new chance. I'm going to grab those tests tomorrow too. And then get back to it, haha.

    And still nothing??
  16. Verwijderd ! started this #17

Oooo no way!! So exciting!! I hope it works out for you / you all!!

Yeah, indeed, you'd better wait a bit longer before testing instead of doing it right away. Then the hcg hormone can be a bit stronger later on, or however you say that haha..

Oh, I'll download it right away, thanks!

    Rooting for you!!
  17. Dewii #18

Tested this morning, but unfortunately not positive yet. We seem to see a very faint line in the distance, but there's not much to say about that. Hopefully it was just too early to test; I'll try again on Friday if nothing shows up
  18. Verwijderd ! started this #19

But a faint line is still a line, right?! Ooo, I hope so for you!
Hope it stays away and that you see a nice thick line on Friday
  19. Dewii #20

Haha yeah, they do say that, but it's really so unclear that I'm not really ready to cheer just yet. So still 100 times to the bathroom to check and holding myself back until tomorrow morning!
