Late ovulation, uncertain

Hi moms (to be),

I'm new here, hope I'm in the right place for my question.
And hoping for some tips, advice/experience..

My last period started on July 6th.
I used CB ovulation tests (smiley or not). Started on July 16th, and no smiley appeared..I almost gave up hope and then suddenly a smiley on July 23rd. Yeehaw.
Well, as if that's a positive pregnancy test (lol)
But I'm quite unsure. So we were having fun trying from the 17th and pretty much did it all week. Because at one point I thought, what if that thing just doesn't work? Well..or I was almost convinced I just didn't ovulate. Well, I did. But only got 1 day with a smiley!
Now my doubt:
The day before the smiley we worked on it in the morning. The day of the smiley late in the evening. The next day we skipped it and the day after we worked on it again in the evening.
My cycle is regular, had a period in April this year and have been trying for 2 months now..
Do you think there's any chance at all? I'm afraid there was too long a gap between the smiley.
Anyone with experience using CB ovulation tests and keeping track of when you tried...and also got pregnant?
Greetings,
Niv

    No one?

I'm really sorry, but I can't give you much clarity on this. What I always understand from this forum is that ovulation happens after the positive test. In that case, you've both done your best, and it seems to me there's definitely a chance!

    Thank you so much, Knuffel!
I really feel like I'm looking for 'opportunities'.
    I'm so involved in this.
    Xxx

Yeah, I get it! A lot of women here do that... You've got the best chance if you keep at it during the week leading up to ovulation. Your egg only lives for such a short time that you need to be quick after ovulation... So it's best to start every other day about a week after your period or so. Just make sure it stays fun!

You're absolutely right. Sometimes it went on command and both were funny, then we waited a bit and tried again... It should indeed stay fun and exciting.
Hope the little swimmers did their best :-)
I see you're expecting, congratulations! A little archer on the way :-)

I hope so too for you!
Thank you! An archer baby, huh? Haha, I wasn't even thinking that far ahead... I was more thinking of a Sinterklaas baby. Although, it could be a few days earlier or later, if you ask me.
