what do you all have at home??

Ladies, I’d really love your advice on what I absolutely MUST have/get ready for when the baby arrives. I’m 28 weeks pregnant now.

Currently, we have at home:
- a complete baby cot
- a professional nursing chair (it’s in the nursery)
- plenty of clothes/socks/shoes/pajamas/onesies
- a stroller/pram
- a car seat for babies
- the room itself needs to be decorated with nice colors using accessories, but we’re not painting because we have white walls (new build house)

But all tips are welcome. From feeding bottles to bibs to bottles to diapers or WHATEVER. I can’t find a good checklist anywhere. Even though I know I need all the above (feeding bottles, diapers, etc.) and must have them at home, I just want to know from you what’s really recommended and what’s truly important. (like a checklist) and other things I should think about!!!!

Thanks in advance.

Lots of hydrophilic diapers and spit-up cloths, nursing pillow, microwave sterilizer... I'll think of more later.

sockies 6 rompers or snap-button shirts in sizes 50-56 6 burp cloths 4 flannel diapers or alternatively molton cloths (the midwife can use these as a wrap cloth) 2 hot water bottles and 2 bottle covers; these must be copper-chrome plated. You'll also need these in the summer because all babies need a little extra warmth right after birth, for example for pre-warming baby clothes. Don't use old ones as they can start leaking. 6 cute outfits or little sweaters to dress your baby in, in sizes 50-56. Choose a neutral color if you don't know yet whether your baby will be a boy or a girl. bib 2 hats 2 bath capes 1 fever thermometer (not for the ear). There are special baby thermometers available for purchase. 1 cotton diaper or disposable diaper 1 baby bath and accessories on a stand or a Tummy Tub 1 bath thermometer 6 burp cloths 4 flannel diapers 1 changing pad (and 2 pillowcases) 1 diaper pail 6 hydrophilic washcloths 10 hydrophilic diapers. You can use these to dry your baby. They are nice and soft for your baby's tender skin. if you're breastfeeding: make sure to have 2 nursing bras and some nursing pads if bottle-feeding: make sure to have baby bottles and a measuring jug with a lid. if needed, a bottle warmer for warming up powdered milk or expressed breast milk 1 mild soap 1 pacifier 1 bottle of mild shampoo 1 bottle of bubble bath 1 bottle of body milk 1 pack of wet wipes 1 jar of good, thick cream for red baby bottoms 1 hairbrush or comb 1 pair of nail scissors with rounded tips Maybe you'll find this useful

    Cheers Ju

And what do you recommend having in the house as much as possible? At how many weeks?

    Baby essentials for the nursery
Cot or bassinet. Mattress and mattress protector (no mattress protector with a fully plastic backing). Bed linen: bottom and top sheets, blankets*), 2 molton waterproof sheets (sheet and molton combined) and 2 moltons. Chest of drawers. Linen closet and hangers.
If you have a separate room available:
Wallpaper; Lighting; Curtains/drapes; Baby monitor; Childproof socket covers.
*) In recent years, much research has been done into the possible causes of SIDS. Kraamzorg De Eilanden has adopted the advice of the SIDS Foundation and prefers the use of blankets. Temperature regulation and ventilation for the baby are important factors in preventing SIDS. Blankets with cotton sheets help the baby regulate heat better.

    Essentials for changing the baby
Chest of drawers or cabinet where the baby can lie. 1 changing mat, plasticized with raised edges. 2-3 covers for the changing mat. Disposable diapers or 24 to 36 cotton diapers (12 hydrophilic and 12 to 24 piqué diapers). If disposable diapers are used, at least 12 hydrophilic diapers. These are for use during labor and in the cot/bassinet, as well as for drying the baby. When using cotton diapers, optionally a pack of diaper inserts and ties, tape, or safety pins. But wipes. Zinc cream. Tube or jar of Vaseline. 1 diaper pail with lid. Pedal bin liners.
    Essentials for the baby's bath
Baby bath or Tummy Tub and a bath stand. Hydrophilic diapers (see above). 6 Hydrophilic washcloths. 2 (terry cloth) Capes. Brush and/or comb. Cardboard nail file for the first six weeks.
Essentials for caring for the baby's umbilical cord

    Baby clothing essentials

The baby's layette should be washed beforehand, without fabric softener to avoid possible irritation of the baby's skin.

Other baby essentials 6 Bibs and 6 burp cloths.

You do not need a scale for weighing your baby. Our maternity care nurses are standard equipped with a so-called unster (weighing hook).

    Bottle feeding essentials
If you choose bottle feeding, make sure you have the following items at home.

    Essentials for the new mother
    [li>1 Box of hydrophilic gauze (16 x 16) [/

Oh, that's so nice! I never had to worry about that because my interior care specialist does it for me. It seems like a hassle and stressful to organize all that. Good luck, girl! Greetings, Madelijne.
