Pregnancy tests, ovulation and ovulation tests
Did I ovulate? Blood test
AnvbogaeGuest ·
Hi everyone,
This is my first post on this forum, so hopefully I've put it in the right category :-)
My partner and I have been trying to get pregnant for months now, but unfortunately without success.
I do have a bit of extra weight, but my cycle is fairly regular. It's on the longer side, but not worryingly so (always around 37 days).
I use ovulation test strips monthly and get a clear positive result. My cervical mucus also changes clearly. But I've read that neither of these symptoms necessarily means you're ovulating! :-(
I was wondering if the basal body temperature method gives reliable confirmation of whether or not you're ovulating? Or are there other ways to find out if I'm ovulating?
Of course, I could also get a blood test done, but I'd rather hold off on that for now. However, if I do decide to go ahead with a blood test, should I see a gynecologist or my general practitioner? And does it need to be done around a specific time in my cycle, or can they test at any time?
I really hope we'll be pregnant soon; we're both ready :-)
Best,
An
