Zwangere die niet helemaal zeker is van de bedachte naamGuest ·
I'd love to hear your thoughts on the name Diyenne. My husband and I came up with it together. It's a pretty unique name that's hardly or not at all found on Google. What do you think?
Thanks in advance!

I actually have two names, but I can't decide. The aforementioned name Diyenne or the name Marit. I look forward to your reactions.

    I actually really like Diyenne,
    love unique names.
But are you making it harder for yourself by leaving out the "i"?
    Dyenne then?

    Marit isn't really my style.

Hey! Thanks for your reply! It's probably a good idea to leave out the 'i'. I'll discuss it with my husband...

Olivia-Anna, what other names do you think are nice if I may ask? Have you already made up your mind and are you really 100% sure about the name you've chosen? I like 'our' name a lot, but I'm not 100% sure because it's something you're committing your child to for their whole life.

I think Dyenne is such a lovely name! I wouldn't overthink it if it were up to me.

Nice name, especially with the i in there!!

Otherwise you'd get a different pronunciation (like Dij jenne) that name comes up more often, I had 2 girls nearby 'back in the day' who were called that

Thanks for your responses, Dani and Daantjuh!
Do you think it's a Dutch name, and (with all due respect) not a 'trailer park'-type name?
    Love!

    Hi Olivia-Anna,

I think it's a beautiful name, very special too. If you both like it, I'd say go for it! I definitely don't think it's too weird or strange. I can already picture it on the birth announcement card ;-)

    Best wishes!

Not my taste, I always think of a hip-hop girl with a gold chain when I hear that name. Not meant in a bad way though

    Hey fellow "pregnant ones"

The name I've chosen for our girl is "Delaya Mae"
and yes, my husband just can't stop talking about it!!
And I'm also getting those "pram camp" reactions, and actually, I'm quite happy about that!??

    I love unique and exotic..
And I feel the same about Diyenne.
I (sorry!!) absolutely hate standard Dutch names..Jan, Piet, Klaas..

For girls, I like: Mira, Macha, Salome, Naima, Zaya, Sumera, Lente, Imani...

Olivia-Anna, that's also a special name. 'Delaya Mae', beautiful though! (I agree it's an exotic name, but not caravan-camp-like.)

What do you think of Diedanne?

Not a caravan-park-ish name, but also not a Dutch name. Then I'd go for Marit.

Diyenne wouldn't be my first choice, but since you came up with it together and it's not very common, it's a super name! I'd go for it! Marit is so (sorry!) standard!
