Grandma mz is named Hendrika, Grandpa vz is named Hendricus. Can Kate then be named after them, or is that too far-fetched?

I personally don't see how Kate is derived from Hendrika/Hendricus. (I do think it's a nice name though.)

    Kate comes from Catharina.
I think Kate is also a nice name.

I read a thread earlier here where Kaat, Kate, and Kiki were also mentioned as options for Hendrika. That's how I came across it. I don't really like Jet or Henriette or something like that. But other tips are welcome!

I think Kaat could work as a namesake for Hendrika. Otherwise, maybe Rika or Rikki/Rikky.

Or Riek, Keet(je) (I’d see that more as a naming after someone than Kate, given the rather Dutch Hendrika)

I don't see the connection between Hendrika and Kate.
You could make Henna out of it, super cute name!

I guess I want it too much When someone once suggested Kate, I thought: Yesss, finally a nice name found. But I also find it a bit of a stretch myself.
But Riek, Rika, Henna... I don't like any of those at all.
Fortunately, we still have a few months to think about it!

You can just go with Kate, right? Or do you have to name them after grandma and grandpa?

No, it's not necessary, but we did it with the first one, so I'd like to do it again now. It's about a 2nd or 3rd name, by the way. We chose the first name ourselves.
