how close together

Hi ladies,
I'm curious about your choices. How close together do you space your kids, and was that a conscious decision? What were the pros and cons for you? And does the 'busyness' live up to what people say, or is it not that bad?
Just curious. When the second one arrives, it'll be 1 year and 5 months between ours. I expect we'll have a few busy years, but I think they'll have a lot to share with each other later on. Only time will tell how it turns out, of course.
Would love to hear from you.
Best,

I have 4 daughters aged 13, 11, 8, and 6 (the 8 and 6 year olds are actually only 1.5 years apart) and a little boy of 2.
It wasn't really a conscious choice, as I suddenly found out I was pregnant and I'm very happy it turned out this way. They still have so much connection with each other.
I would have liked the youngest a bit sooner, but we thought we were done after 4 kids.. only it started feeling right for me and not for my husband.. so it took a while before we agreed on it.

I have two daughters, with a 1.5-year age gap. I'm now 9 weeks pregnant with the third. It was such a beautiful surprise for us. The gap between the second and third will be 2.5 years. I have to say that I also thought it would be really tough with the second one, but it's all coming together nicely. The girls get along well and play together all day long. They really can't do without each other. It's also super sweet to see how the oldest teaches everything to the youngest. I should mention that the first 6 to 9 months were a bit harder to balance everyone's attention. But once you let it all come to you, you'll naturally figure it out.

Hi, we want a gap of exactly 1 year and 8 months between our first two girls.
Honestly, I found it pretty tough, even though I had lots of help from my husband and parents. It was especially hard during the pregnancy.
When my husband was working and my parents were too, I felt really sick and had to keep up with our 1-year-old who was very energetic and whom I had to chase constantly.
While I was feeling very nauseous and tired. You can't really explain to a 1-year-old that you need to lie down because you don't feel well.
She also wasn't aware that mom had a baby in her belly.
I also felt a bit guilty towards her because you're not exactly the most fun mom for a 1-year-old then.
Who really deserves a fit and happy mom.
I felt like I was doing her a lot of injustice.

I think they're tough years. My husband and mom did a lot with the oldest, and I was with the baby when she was born. That helped, but it also hurt at the same time. Now that they're 8 and almost 7, it's much easier and they're going their own way a lot. They play outside together, walk to school together and come back from school together—those are cute things to see. But they also have a lot of fights, precisely because they don't spend much time together. When the middle child was 5, I got pregnant with the third one, after having waited so long. It was much more relaxed, so different. A lot easier. And when the two oldest were at school, I could get a good nap during the pregnancy. What a difference from back then. Now the third is 1 year old, and I accidentally got pregnant during the BV. When she was 9 months old. So there will be 1 year and 5 months between them. My due date for our boy is August 25th. I'm experiencing it as tough again, but this time the oldest, who's 8, helps me and also watches out for her sister, which helps. But it's tough again, pfff. When my girls are playing outside and aren't around, and my husband is working, taking care of Jasmijn, and then the muscle pain from the pregnancy—it's not easy either.
