Ovulation so early?

Hi,
We've been trying to get pregnant since last month.
I started using ovulation tests (CB) this month because I suddenly had a very short cycle last month, while I normally easily get 34 to 38 days.
So I completely missed my fertile days last month…
My period was on the 20th and according to the leaflet I was supposed to start testing today. I started yesterday just to be sure when I have ovulation.
Yesterday it was a neat empty circle and today already a flashing smiley (1 to 2 days before ovulation, where you are highly fertile).
I found this very early, yesterday I lost some old blood (5 days after period) and already fertile again?
I had a cycle of 26 days last month, and now I think I have a short cycle again.
Anyone here with experience with this?
With my other pregnancy I didn't have ovulation until around day 14.

    Hi Jelly,
You can indeed get your egg around day 8.
It's quite odd that your cycle suddenly shifts from long to short. Maybe you could call your GP to see what they think?

    Thanks for your reply, Betty!
I think my cycle is a bit off due to my medication change—that’s the only thing that’s changed in the past two months.
I’m just going to assume I’ll have a short cycle again this month and go for it! If it’s like this again next month (not conceiving), I’ll give my GP a call.
This morning I had another flickering smiley again, so ovulation could happen any moment… exciting!
