Different little whistles

Our kids keep hearing these little beeping noises outside. You hear it all the time. But as parents, we don't hear anything at all. The kids don't want to play outside in our garden anymore because of the nice weather. They don't know where the sound is coming from. How does this work exactly, and what could it be?

Maybe someone nearby has a defense mechanism for birds or pigeons? They produce a very high tone that few adults can hear, but children and animals can.

I know those high-pitched sounds. If you haven't suffered any hearing damage yet, you can hear them. Really annoying; it could be a device to scare away animals like pigeons, mice, moles, and cats.
Usually, that thing isn't even located far away. Check with your neighbors if someone has such a device.

Thanks for your tips. An acquaintance of ours hears the sound very softly, while the kids hear it very loudly.
We’ll ask our neighbors if they have such a device. I’ve never heard of these kinds of devices before.

An acquaintance said that this way, with extremely high-pitched tones, even young people are being put off?
