Feeding
Baby is 8 months old and won't eat veggie puree at home
AnonymousGuest ·
Hi everyone,
My 8-month-old daughter is having some trouble with solid food at home.
Her feeding schedule looks like this:
- 7:00 AM: 210 ml + 7 scoops of Nutramigen (due to cow's milk allergy)
- 11:00 AM: vegetable puree
- 3:00 PM: fruit puree
7:00 PM: 210 ml + 7 scoops of Nutramigen
At daycare, solid food goes pretty well: she eats about 100 to 150 g of vegetable puree (sometimes followed by a bottle afterwards) and about 200 to 250 g of fruit puree.
At home, however, the vegetable puree is a disaster. She takes two bites, turns her head away, and refuses to eat any more. Fruit puree goes reasonably well; it usually takes a little while "to get her going," but she usually manages to eat 150 g of fruit puree.
Does anyone have an idea why she consistently refuses vegetable puree at home? I've tried all sorts of flavors as well as jarred baby food, nothing works.
Since she never wants to eat the vegetable puree, I'm forced to give her a bottle in the afternoon. She really loves drinking her milk, so sometimes I think she simply knows she's going to get a bottle and therefore refuses the VP... Although she sometimes gets a bottle at daycare too, and still eats the VP pretty well there...
Does anyone recognize this or have tips? Should I skip the vegetable puree completely at home for a weekend? Or keep offering it and give a bottle if she refuses? Or try not to give a bottle at all so she has to eat out of "hunger"? The last option seems very difficult to me since she screams her head off and only stops when the bottle is in her mouth
Tips, advice, all welcome!!!
