KCanoniem
Hi hi,

I'm new to this site.
I'm not quite sure how everything works yet.
My partner and I have been together for 1.5 years, we're both turning 30, and we really want kids.
I stopped taking the pill on March 19th (after more than 15 years of taking it), and my cycle has been very regular since the first month, averaging 28 to 30 days.

I think it would be nice, pleasant, and very reassuring to share my experiences with you all and read about yours!
Love.

    Hi KCanoniem,

Your story sounds a lot like mine! I've been with my boyfriend for almost 2 years, and I just turned 30 (he's 33). I stopped the pill on February 26th and got a regular cycle right away. This week I started using ovulation tests from CB. And today I got my first smiley! It might be a bit early to start with those tests, but we're naturally impatient .

Have you told people that you stopped the pill?

    Greetings, Mady

Kcanoniem, what a lovely thing that you're also going for your first baby. We're both 27 and have been together for 9 years. We've been trying for longer than a year now. Unfortunately, the results of the last sperm analysis were good, but in May they were very poor. We're still going to keep trying on our own for now. I'll do the cheap test first, and if it's really thick and dark, I'll do a Clean Bleu to check and increase our chances. Wishing you lots of success and enjoy it—we're keeping it a secret from everyone for now.

    @mady & @j27,
Yeah, I'm really curious! My boyfriend is completely convinced that he "hit the mark" this round, as he puts it!
I'm curious too! I have to get my period on the 25th if not.
I bought some ovulation tests for the next round because I've been reading such good things about them!
I'm someone who never tells anyone anything; I can keep my mouth shut really well! My boyfriend, on the other hand, tells everything out of excitement.
But in the end, it stayed with his dad & stepmom, his best friend, and my best friend.
And we're letting them all believe that I stopped because of health reasons!
I think it should be a surprise when we tell people we're expecting, and I think as few people as possible should know.
And if it doesn't work out, I don't want to have to answer questions!

Hope it works out for you guys soon too! Such an exciting time, right!
  6. Mady #7

Oh come on! My boyfriend regularly says: your breasts have grown, do you notice that too? Although he is also the type who says: let's at least wait a year.. while I think, can't it just be yesterday
I can normally not keep my mouth shut when I'm enthusiastic about something, but it's surprisingly going well! I agree with you that it should still be a surprise when you go tell that you are pregnant. That is the most fun!!
Only my best friend knows here, because indeed every month those questions would make me crazy I think. My best friend wishes me success every month around my period, which I find nice then Hihi..
Good luck on the 25th!! I hope your boyfriend is right
I can still wait until July 2nd.... (is basically almost, I know )

    Hi girls,

    I'm new here too.
I've had my IUD out since January and we're looking to expand our family.
At least, I'm really eager for it.
Lately I've noticed it's occupying my mind more than I'd like.
    Do you feel the same?
Calculating ovulation, using an app, ovulation tests, early pregnancy tests...
I'd love to hear your stories!

    Love

    Hi Htje,
I totally get what you're saying! I haven't done early pregnancy tests yet, but I've definitely been thinking about it a lot more this month. I do use ovulation tests and have an app on my phone too. I keep searching for all sorts of things online and suddenly I feel everything . It's hard not to get caught up in it, right? I definitely do when I'm not working, like today.
It's all so exciting, isn't it!!

    Love,

    Welcome Htje,
    So relatable!
Even though I keep in mind it could take a year, you're already on it!
And yeah, I constantly feel something hahaha or when my boyfriend touches me, I think my skin is more sensitive hahahah!
I have a period app on my phone and I track everything there. Including the days we had sex etc etc.
I stopped taking the pill on March 19th (my boyfriend flushed my pills down the toilet in a drunken state after one of his friends told him he became a dad) hahahaha..
We had a good talk the next day (it had been coming up more and more lately) and we decided that since we both want this so much, we're going for it.
Since March 21st, I've been taking folic acid.
And I bought ovulation tests for this month!
If it doesn't work out this round, I can start using ovulation tests next round!
    Good luck ladies!
P.S. I haven't gotten my period yet! I should start either today or tomorrow!

Haha! So relatable! I totally get what you mean... We also decided to go for it with our first baby, and I stopped the pill on March 27th. My period took a long time to come back (around mid-May), and I had promised myself not to think too much about it. But when that first period didn't show up, I started feeling all sorts of things, which turned out to be normal during the 'pill withdrawal' phase! Now it's another month later, and I'm already a week late for my period (I used to have a very regular cycle before the pill). You can guess what's going on... Now I'm feeling all sorts of things again and really wondering if I'm pregnant or not. Pfff, how do you manage to not think about it? (Ha-Ha) Hopefully, it works out quickly for you all! X

    @Linda,
I really thought stopping the pill was a disaster!
The hormones went all over the place!
Mood swings and crying spells hahaha!
    Dramaaaaaa!!
  12. KCanoniem started this #13

I didn't get my period today! I'm super excited!!!
    Hope it stays that way!
    Sorry, just had to share!
    Fingers crossed!
  13. Mady #14

Hihi so funny right! That you really think about everything.. oh is that it then? I get all butterflies when I think about it hihi.. good butterflies though, like butterflies in your stomach feeling
KCanoniem so exciting!!! I'm cheering you on! Let me know how it goes?
I think I'm dealing with implantation bleeding today... last Sunday was my ovulation and yesterday I had some 'discomfort' with a very light pink tint, now it's impossible to miss.. I find it super exciting! I think my thumbs won't have fingerprints left by the end of the week
  14. KCanoniem started this #15

Yes, super exciting! I couldn't even sleep well because I was already decorating the baby's room in my head. Hahahaha.
@Htje, yes, I personally came to this site to chat with (fate) about what you feel and how to deal with it! So yes, please, keep each other updated and share experiences!
Because I don't want to talk about it with anyone else!
And my boyfriend thinks I'm crazy hahaha when he sees how much this occupies my mind.
He does know that I'm on this site haha!
@mady, oh, I've never had such mid-pregnancy bleeding myself, but I have read about it!
I hope it's okay for you!
    Toi toi toi!
Ladies, I'm going to get up and hope for the best!
  15. Mady #16

I've had the jitters all over since I woke up! Intense, huh, what it does to you. You make the decision and think, well, let it come.. but I didn't expect it to keep me so busy!

I totally understand your decorated nursery! Hihi I was on Pinterest again yesterday making all kinds of folders with all sorts of things.. my boyfriend has to laugh when he sees how much I'm busy with it! Although he did tell his best friend about it last week with a beer in hand I find that quite funny!

Hopefully, your period won't come, KCanoniem! Then you can really start enjoying the nursery later

By the way, I also find it nice to keep each other updated! That we support each other a bit, so we don't talk past each other.. maybe I should recommend such a forum for men to my boyfriend
  16. Anonymous Guest #17

    Hahahahaha!
Ooooooh, this is all so exciting! And Mady, when are you actually supposed to get your period (hopefully not!)?
I think I have a bit less confidence than you guys. My boyfriend always used to say: oh well, you'll definitely get pregnant in one go... I started to believe that a bit, and now it's not going so easily at all! I know it can take up to a year, but because of the multiple procedures down there, I'm more afraid that something might be wrong. Which results in less confidence. But I have been extremely and really really tired these past few days.
I'm curious to hear all the ins and outs!
    Love,
  17. Mady #18

I should actually get my period next Sunday (hopefully not, indeed).. but I've read so much already.. and implantation should be around now (within 6 to 12 days after ovulation, which was last Sunday). The timing all lines up perfectly.. but I don't really want to get too excited about it.. I do have sore breasts for a few days now, but I often get them a week before my period..

Oh, I can understand that yes.. if you've set your heart on it being a one-time thing.. then it's quite a letdown, isn't it.. how long have you been trying now? Do you also use ovulation tests? I did that for the first time this time.. maybe that's why I'm feeling all sorts of things now and such
  18. LB #19

@kcanoniem Yes, indeed! Very relatable... I also don't find it very nice so far, the waiting! How long did that take for you? It's so nerve-wracking that you're not having your period... Hopefully it's positive!
It sounds nice to keep each other updated, we can indeed keep our mouths shut about it, right???!
  19. KCanoniem started this #20

@linda, my pill withdrawal took 4 weeks!
Lots of new hairs growing in my contours..
    Tears..
    Eczema is gone..
And now everything is normal again hahaha!
I do notice that my hair is really becoming super healthy! I'm a hairdresser, but it's truly a world of difference already in 3 months!
Also, no period today yet.. (so far)
You know what it is, if I do get my period today or tomorrow it'll be a bit disappointing, but absolutely not the end of the world! But you want it so badly and baby stuff is fun!
I'm creative, I love crafting, I have the changing table at home where my friend's two half-brothers used to lie before and after. And I want to give it a nice makeover!
You're already involved anyway! And you can't always keep your enthusiasm in check Haha
