Hi everyone,

Just a quick question for you all:
I stopped the pill 3 months ago and have had a regular 28-day cycle since then. This time around, though, my period came 5 days early. On Wednesday morning, I suddenly had light bleeding, but it didn't really progress to a normal period. I had much less bleeding than usual, no symptoms like stomach or back pain, and I was supposed to get my period on Sunday.. I took a test this morning, but it was negative unfortunately.. I was supposed to get my period on Aug 27th normally. But my question now is: Should I consider this light bleeding as a normal period and therefore calculate my ovulation from that first day? I'm a bit confused, what can a woman's body get up to, I say

Thanks in advance for the replies
Love, BJ

    Hi Bj82,
From now on, you can't really say much until you're unblocked again (or not ). It looks like your cycle is a bit off at the moment. I'd stick with 28 days from Wednesday, but whether that'll actually happen is anyone's guess.

The more irregular the cycle, the harder it is to predict when ovulation will occur. So if you're keen to try, pretty much every day is about as good a guess as any!

    Hi Louise,

    Thanks for your reply!

I was indeed a bit confused because I read here and there that light bleeding could also indicate implantation bleeding, so I did a test this morning just to be sure. Since I have quite a few parties planned for the coming period and I want to take drinking into account if I am pregnant, I wanted to check. But unfortunately, the test was negative.

The next point is that my boyfriend works for the navy and is only home on weekends, so if my ovulation keeps falling in the middle or towards the end of the week, I'm afraid it might take us a while. With my normal cycle, my ovulation was on Monday or Tuesday, so we could still have sex on Sunday evening. But now that ovulation is falling later in the week, it's going to be a bit more difficult, I think, and I'm a bit bummed about that. But well, having sex just for the sake of it isn't good either, so we'll just do it when he's home and see what the future brings

    Love, BJ
