Hi everyone,
I have a question and hope you can help/advice me!
I'm currently in round 12.. in two weeks I'll have my period. Now the question is if I'm not pregnant by July, I'll get my period on the day I go on vacation.. not nice, so I want to start the pill for a week, what happens to my body then? Do I need to stop the pill or does my body get confused? I don't know, hope someone can help me.
Love, Elisa

I don't really know if you can just do that... I'd call your GP because there are other ways to delay your period for a while.

Consulting your GP and/or pharmacist seems like the sensible thing to do to me. I personally wouldn't take any hormonal contraception anymore until after your pregnancy/pregnancies. Besides, it's up to you how annoying you find your period during your holiday vs. a possible (even later) pregnancy. Also, I don't know if taking the pill for just 1 week delays your period enough so that you won't have any issues with it. Shouldn't you start right on the 1st day of your previous period? In short: see the first sentence.

I know there's a temporary pill that lets you delay your period for a bit. I personally got really sick on the first day of taking it and passed out twice.

So if I were you, I'd chat with my GP about the pros and cons.

You're right, I wouldn't just start taking the pill casually. Especially since you've been off it for a while, I don't think it's a good idea to start again for just a week. I also don't think it'll achieve what you're hoping for.

Nijn mentioned that kind of pill, and I used it once too when I wasn't on the pill yet and had to skip a week for school. I ended up feeling pretty sick from it, so it wasn't really a success.

Definitely give your GP a call for advice if you really want to delay it!
