When to take the progesterone shot and when to do the test

Hi ladies,
I hope one of you can help me.
On April 29th, I had my last internal ultrasound for my ovulation. At that time, my largest follicle was 17mm.
I was supposed to get my blood drawn on May 8th to check my progesterone levels and see if I had a good ovulation. Luckily, it was good
I read that they often do a week after the expected ovulation to check your progesterone...
But when exactly should I be pregnant now?
I'm actually afraid to test because I don't want to get disappointed or test too early.
