Boy's name Malte

We have a 2-year-old daughter named Stella, and I'm currently about 20 weeks pregnant with a boy. I really like the name Malte (it's popular in Scandinavia). Unfortunately, I'm a bit worried that people will immediately associate it with beer. I've also heard that some people think the name sounds feminine. What do you all think?

    I think it's a boy's name.
    It's also the French name for the island of Malta.

    I think the name sounds nice. I don't know anyone at all who has that name. It's probably quite rare!

    I think the name sounds nice! I guess some people might immediately think of malt beer, but I wouldn't let that bother me! Every name has its associations...

    I wasn't thinking of beer directly. More like malt beer. But apart from that, I think it's a nice name. I'll have to get used to it, but it sounds pretty nice.

    Nice, Malte is also very high on our list! I think the name is great. And yes, if the name is uncommon, you have the downside that people have different associations. It'll get used to it quickly. When I first heard the name (through someone else), I had to get used to it too. But now I really like it!
