I have a burnout..

Hi girls,
I’ve only recently realized (about 2 months ago) that I’m in a burnout. I haven’t been working full-time for half a year now, but I didn’t really understand why. I’m wondering if my body is ready to get pregnant right now? We’ve been trying for a year and a half. Should I maybe let it go? Any other girls in the same boat?

I don’t have personal experience with burnout, but I do know what it’s like to take a long time to get pregnant. Have you talked to your GP about it yet??

    Hi Zaraida,

I don't have experience with burnout, but I do have experience recovering from a whiplash injury, which gives me similar symptoms to a severe burnout. I've been off work for a year and a half now, and I've stopped taking the pill since January. I'm not sure if my body is ready for pregnancy yet, but I'll find out in due time.

I'm trying my best to let go and take things as they come, but that's still a bit difficult for me.

I hope you get a positive test soon.

Hi Zaraida, I don’t have experience with burnout myself, but I’ve dealt with depression in the past. Your body does react to stress, which can definitely mess with your period. But I think the bigger question is how this is affecting you mentally. Are you stable enough to handle a pregnancy? (Think about what’s best for the baby). Are you in therapy? I think once you start feeling a bit better, things will become easier. I might be saying this easily, but it’s also important to think about yourself and give it time.

2.5 years ago I ended up at home with a burnout. Still recovering now.. ups and downs with fatigue. Still, we decided 4 months ago to go for a 2nd child. We thought it would take a while due to the burnout, stress, etc. But got pregnant right away. So my body was ready! Now I feel mentally stable enough to even make the choice now, and I had already stopped the pill for quite a while to let as much hormone crap as possible work its way out of my body. I think you can make the best assessment yourself, and then it's a matter of waiting to see if your body is ready!
