Which ones do you like the most? The sisters are named N.ora and L.oïs.

I think Danée fits best. Both are nice names, by the way

Faya sounds a bit more cheerful to me than Danée... I'm going with Faya! Such a beautiful name!

    Danée!

Danee and Faya, I personally don't think are beautiful names. They sound harsh.

Ohhh tricky! My daughter is also named Loïs and I have Faya on my list. I also really like Danee. I think I’d go with Faya.

Thanks for your replies so far! I'm leaning more towards F.aya. That way I stay in the 4-letter trend ???? D.anée will probably be her middle name.
    F.aya D.anée

    Super fun! I'd do it

    Good idea.

    'Faya Danée' sounds really beautiful!

Or maybe Esmée? I mean as her first name. Do I still need to come up with a second name?

Faya always reminds me of my internship in Amsterdam Bijlmer... kids there used to shout "FAYA!" (fire = Surinamese or something) when something went wrong or they didn't like something, like a kind of "SHIT!" you know.. Since then, I don't think Faya is suitable as a name anymore. So I'd choose Danee!

When I google "faya", the first hit is indeed a slang dictionary. I definitely don't live in "the big city", so no one here knows it as slang, only as a name. Are there others who associate the name with slang? Or not?
  13. Anonymous Guest #14

Tough choice! I think both are really nice names.
I'd go with.......... Danee, I think it fits better with the sisters!
    Good luck!

I also use Faya a lot myself (as street slang).
I wouldn't do it because she wants to live in the big city later on (probably no one will use street slang anymore) and then she'll be made fun of every time, or when she goes to high school in a bigger city or even just in her own city. I can't imagine that they don't use street slang anywhere; they do use it everywhere (maybe without you even realizing it).
Or you might move to the big city yourself in a few years for work, for example (you never know).
And also what anna1986 said: later on she might get a Surinamese boyfriend or just friends who are Surinamese, and then you'll have that situation.............

Hmm, now I'm really doubting it. I think it's really a beautiful name, I even think "the" name. Would you guys go for it (slang)?
  16. Rozewolk87 #17

My daughter is also named Loïs and I was torn between Loïs and Romee;-). I’d go with Faya Danée and not let any slang influence it. Moooie combi!
  17. Tori #18

I wouldn't let it influence me either. Faya is a regular name. Just look at Faya Laurens. Super name, really. Just go for it..

I also think Romée is really nice!
