Negative test but still pregnant?
R.Guest ·
Hi ladies,
Last January I had my IUD removed because we wanted a third child. Since I’d already had two pregnancies, I went into this “new journey” pretty calmly. My first pregnancy was unplanned, and I got pregnant with my youngest after 8 months. After having the IUD removed, I had severe stomach pain for 4 weeks. The pain went away the second month, but I had bleeding for 3 weeks. All of this was probably related to the IUD removal. In early March I thought I had my period (hard to tell because I was already spotting heavily).
On Thursday, March 23, I tested positive for ovulation, so I should have gotten my period about 2 weeks later. Around April 6 I should have gotten my period, but it was a full week late. In the meantime (of course) I tested, but both tests were negative. Last Thursday evening, April 13, I got my period. It didn’t last long (2 days) and the blood was clearer than usual. Even before the actual date (April 6) of my period, my breasts got much bigger, and even now, after my period, they’re still like that. I do sometimes notice they get a bit fuller with my period, but now my husband even noticed
. Besides that, I’ve been having more symptoms (e.g., mild nausea and stabbing pains in my ligaments) that could indicate pregnancy, but after 2 months of stomach pain and spotting, I don’t really trust my body right now.
Because I can’t shake the thought of a possible pregnancy and just can’t accept those negative tests, I took another test yesterday. That was negative too. Still, it’s driving me crazy and making me unsure because I read that it can sometimes happen that you test negative. I’m wondering whether to ask my GP for a blood test or wait a bit longer.
What would you do, or does anyone here have experience with this?
Thanks in advance for your replies!
