5 days overdue, tests negative

Hi!
I have a question. Today I'm 5 days late, I have quite a bit of vaginal discharge, I've noticed that I've been very emotional over the last few days, and I'm getting occasional twinges in my lower abdomen. I took a pregnancy test on Sunday and it was negative. Could it be that I might test positive later, or should I go to the doctor? We're trying to conceive, but I don't want to get too hopeful because I had a miscarriage in early February.
