First ultrasound yesterday!

Had my first midwife appointment yesterday, and also got my first ultrasound!
How wonderful! We saw the little heart beating, that felt so good! They also measured the baby, and based on that, they set the official pregnancy length, because until now it was still based on my first day of my last period. She couldn't measure the baby very well though, because he was lying nice and close against my uterine wall. I had to cough a few times, then they usually wake up and move around, said the midwife. I could cough as much as I wanted, but he/she just kept lying there nicely
Already has a mind of his own? hahaha.
So they still couldn't measure properly, so we'll stick with being 9 weeks pregnant for now.
It was super nice to have the ultrasound, and this amazing feeling came over me. When I looked at the photo again at home, I thought, wow, yes, I already really love that 'little thing'. Just wanted to share my joy, it's so wonderful having an ultrasound. Can hardly wait for the next one... hihi

In 4 weeks I have the next (check-up) appointment with the midwife.
In the meantime, I'm going to have a combined screening test done. They can also measure the baby and determine how far along I am (since it didn't work out before). They'll also take a blood sample to send to the midwife. I still need to make an appointment for that combined test, but it has to be before my next midwife visit, so... I really wanted to have the combined test done myself, not because I have an increased risk or anything like that... -

It's nice that you've had your first ultrasound.
Yes, it's everyone's choice whether to do a combined test.
We chose to do a nuchal translucency measurement.
That's because I've reached the age of 39.
Fortunately, the values were very positive; I have a body that's equivalent to a 15-year-old's, so my constitution is still quite good..:-P hahaha, had to laugh there.
But let me know how the test went.
