Rare eating habits

I was browsing around the site and came across quite a few pregnancy cravings. I didn't have any with my son and daughter, and I don't have any now either, so I'm wondering if you guys do, and what you're suddenly crazy about? Are there any ladies here who have really weird eating habits right now?

Also, here's a bit from a pregnancy book I once got from my in-laws. I found/found it pretty funny. It was next to a section about pica, and it was also in a gray box on the side of the page; the author(s) apparently thought it was very important. The piece advised that if you had a craving for dirt (!), you should go to a garden center and buy a bag of potting soil!!!!!!!!!!!!

whahahah and then take a bite of dirt;-) stirs up the stomach
I did hear that some people have really weird cravings, like for dirt... or cleaning products, they find them smell so nice and would love to eat them...
I don't have any weird cravings now.. with the previous 2 pregnancies I did have things I suddenly ate a lot of, but nothing weird like above
With the first one it was really ham cheese chips bagsnnnnnn and crackers with cheese and jam on top :-P
and the 2nd one late at night still 6 toasted sandwiches with herb cheese and slices of cucumber on top

Nope, no special eating habits here. I'm curious to hear the stories of others. :-)

    Imagine ... ground hihi, it's a bit different ...

The worst thing I ever heard was a newspaper clipping my sister shoved under my nose:

An artist who specializes in painting dead animals she finds by the roadside.
And during her pregnancy, she also liked to eat them afterwards!!!!
She even mentioned what she wanted to try next... Hedgehog.. Wild Boar..
My stomach turns just thinking about it.. BAH!!!

(I don't have any issues with it though..)

pickles and grill sausages and bicky rib burgers (but not too many of those, and if I feel like eating one, I'll have some fruit instead) I often crave that mmmm

With the first chocolate and with the second, everything sour! I have indeed heard of women who HAD to eat bricks.

Trying... so weird that all those hormones can set it in motion

With the first one, I basically had a bottle of citrus cleaner hanging under my nose all day! Oh man, it smelled fantastic.....I smeared it straight onto the laminate, put a saucer on the shelf above the toilet, and threw a little bit in the toilet all day. Whenever I walked past the cupboard where the bottle was, I had to take a quick sniff,,,, honestly, it was a bit of a quirk, hehe.

Now it wasn't really anything special, more like moments when I just HAD to have something. Last time at Lidl, for example. I needed chocolate, right now! I almost snatched the bar from the cashier's hands after he'd scanned it. Luckily I managed to keep myself in check until I'd paid, and then I enjoyed it so much

Fruit! In wholesale quantities. Not just one apple, no, 5! And a banana and a whole watermelon...
    And at the end, herring

Ah yes, I have the same thing as Dani.

Whatever I'm craving at that moment, I HAVE to have. But it can be anything...
And the first 3 months, lots of sour candy in my handbag..

Hahaha I'm only in my second month and suddenly I really want to snack a lot, even though I normally don't care about that.
I want to grab everything in the supermarket!
I'm trying to hold back because I don't want to gain too much weight. But it's hard!!!

This is my first pregnancy and I really, really crave chocolate. Preferably just one specific kind. Now we already bring them along as standard with our weekly groceries. Besides that, I sometimes get a craving for apricot cakes. Then I can easily empty a whole pack in one go. I also often feel like having a hamburger bun with some lettuce and lots of mayo. No weird cravings otherwise. I did laugh really hard at the first part about the ground haha. I don't even want to think about it...

By the way, I do have the thing where I can't really handle food that's been sitting out for a day. So I usually do the dishes right after eating. I can really feel sick from the smell the next day.

At the beginning of my pregnancy, it was pickles (such a cliché) and salty licorice. Now I'm 34 weeks pregnant, and the last few weeks have been filled with bags of scraped carrots. Delicious! Haha. Luckily, this last craving is much better too :-)

I definitely have it. I have an overwhelming craving to eat potting soil and sand. Last time I seriously rushed off to the agricultural cooperative and bought a 25kg bag of sand just so I could eat some sand. I couldn't resist. Luckily I managed to keep it to just a teaspoon... I now have a container of potting soil on the table so I can keep smelling it. I'm trying hard not to eat it. I also really want to go to the garden center now! Purely for the smell. It's all so weird haha

Oops yes, I really want to smell sand and soil, and for example, I find cellars and sheds smell absolutely wonderful???? I can barely restrain myself from getting out of bed and going to stand in the cellar. It makes me feel really weird and restless!!!

The urge to eat sand or dirt can indicate a calcium deficiency. Though it doesn't have to be. You can get loose calcium at the drugstore or pharmacy to satisfy this craving.
I myself mainly eat white chocolate. And pineapple... fresh from the can, yogurt with pineapple flavor, etc....

Nothing special yet, but I'm only just pregnant. I do have more cravings for snacks, and it's harder to resist them..

I'm just 8 weeks pregnant. I don't really have any weird cravings, but I do have a big craving for drop and fries with mayo. I've already been leaving my coffee behind for a few weeks because I really don't feel like it anymore, even though before my pregnancy I used to drink at least 4 cups a day.
