First name for the 3rd child

Hi everyone,

We’re excitedly expecting our 3rd child. Choosing a name is harder this time than for the first two. Our oldest is Maya and our (so far) youngest is Mathis. This time it’s a boy again, and we’ve narrowed our list down to two lovely names: Miel and Otis. We’re still hesitating a lot because it seems like Mathis and Otis might be a bit too similar. What do you think?

Thanks in advance for your input!

Where does the stress fall in Mathis? I pronounce it as mâh-TIES.
The names Mathis and Otis do sound somewhat similar, but I don’t think it’s a big issue. The names aren’t copies.

    Miel

I think Otis is a really nice name, but indeed quite similar to Mathis. I don't find Miel so beautiful, a bit unfinished. I'd rather go for Emil/Emile/Emiel or Camiel/Kamiel.

What beautiful names! Mathis is also on our list (pronounced Mattis with the stress on Mat). If that's how you pronounce it too, I think it sounds a bit too much like Otis. Otherwise, I do think Otis is a really nice name.

Maybe Owen is a bit more...?

I’d also go with Miel. Other options are: Maes, Mels, Melle, Moos..
And not starting with an M: Odin, Axel, Felipe, Felix, Vigo..

    Otis!
