negative due to open packaging

Hi,
I did a test last night and saw a faint + sign, but this morning I did it again and it was negative. Could it be showing negative because I already opened the test yesterday? Or should I give up hope for this round?

    Did you take the same test as the day before?
    In my opinion, you won't see a second line or cross if there's no hCG in your body...
    Just wait and see, and maybe try a different type of test?

    Yeah, same test. Just did one from Kruidvat and the Clearblue digital, and both were negative (it had been 6 hours since I last drank something and went to the toilet) ???????? really disappointing
