natural birth after a c-section?

My son Sem (almost 2) was born via C-section. Had a good pregnancy, except for dangerous high blood pressure at the end. He was breech, so it became a C-section. (I did have full dilation because I didn't really feel the contractions.)

Now, last December I found out I have polycystic kidney disease, which is a hereditary condition. With polycystic kidneys, you usually suffer from high blood pressure, which is one of the symptoms. I went on blood pressure medication so I could get pregnant, as a second child was planned. I'm now almost 29 weeks pregnant. My gynecologist told me they want to induce me 2 weeks before the due date so my blood pressure doesn't become a danger to the baby or myself.

Last night I was reading in my pregnancy book and saw that it's more dangerous to induce someone with a previous C-section. You then have a higher risk of uterine rupture. I also read that for people with high blood pressure, they often choose a C-section due to the dangers high blood pressure brings.

Does anyone know more if there's a possibility for a natural birth and if inducing is really a greater danger??
(I do have a bit of a dread about being induced. I'm afraid I won't have a relaxed birth and, like with Sem, almost painless contractions.)

(I'm going to discuss this with the gyn next week.)

I can't really give a sensible answer to that. With my daughter, I had pre-eclampsia and my blood pressure was way too high, but she was born naturally after being induced with gel.

My son was in breech position – just like your son – so he was also born via C-section.
With him, I had full dilation and was on the operating table with pushing contractions, because the labor went super fast.

Now I'm pregnant for the 3rd time. After my son's birth, the OB already warned me that with a 3rd pregnancy I should expect the labor to be fast.
So I've already been asking how that will work out. I have to go to the hospital to give birth, but the labor will basically be fast, so I shouldn't wait and see if contractions intensify, but make sure I get to the hospital as soon as I start having contractions.
I don't find that idea very pleasant, so at the last check-up I asked the midwife how it would work out. Whether I should maybe get induced instead. Then you're already in the hospital when contractions start...
But the midwife basically said right away that the OB won't do that, because of the higher risk of rupture. But also that I should discuss that with the OB later on.
So the messages and experiences we have are kind of contradictory... but anyway, I can say that high blood pressure doesn't have to be a reason for a C-section.

I also had to go straight to the hospital as soon as I felt the contractions and not just brush it off as the flu... From the moment I felt them, I was fully dilated within 4 hours and was rushed down the hallway with pushing contractions.

I kind of awkwardly yelled that I had to poop and that I didn't need to because I'd already done that that morning... (I had lost track of what I was doing, I think. All those people we ran into probably died of laughter.)

I'm going back to the OB on Tuesday and will discuss it with him... I'll definitely let you know here.
