Finally, pregnant.

Hi ladies!

Let me introduce myself briefly. I'm Lauren, 25 years old, been with my husband since 2008 and married since 2013. Together we have a lovely dog and a beautiful house. House, tree, and pet, so to speak!

I always wanted to be a young mother. I worked in childcare and had a good job. But in 2014, the atmosphere changed there and I started suffering from stress. Around that time, I also had a miscarriage shortly after the passing of my dearest grandma.

After that, I couldn't get pregnant anymore. And work didn't help either, so I quit my permanent job at the end of 2014 and started doing a few hours of cleaning work.

2015 and 2016 were nothing but misery. I was feeling really bad about myself and suddenly lost one dear person after another to the same illness. End of summer 2016, things had to change, so I started my own business. From then on, things got better for me and my marriage, and I got pregnant in October. Every month disappointed since the last miscarriage, and now we're pregnant! Unfortunately, a week after we found out, it went wrong.

On top of that, they found out that I had cysts on my ovaries that were pressing everything aside.

The doctor said it wouldn't be easy to get pregnant. I had to wait 3 months and hope that the largest cysts would burst on their own.

November 2016, I woke up at night with immense pain and thought for a moment my stomach would explode.

On Christmas Day, I had a lot of pain again and thought something wasn't right. My husband thought it was ovulation, but I didn't want to test just yet. We still hung out nicely, and on the second day of Christmas, I lay in bed as sick as a dog.

January 17, 10 days late, and I did a test with my husband. Two thick purple lines appeared within 15 seconds!

Now I'm very busy with the business and I'm so tired, so forgetful that I even have to-do lists with my to-do lists on them, haha.

According to my own calculations, I would be 8 weeks pregnant tomorrow, and I have my first ultrasound on February 13.

My mother is so happy for us that she asks me every week how things are going. But I haven't told anyone yet because I want to wait for the first ultrasound. But, if everything goes well, we'll run to my parents to tell them, haha.

One thing is, in two weeks we're going on a winter sports trip, and I don't know if that's such a good idea, but I'll discuss it with my doctor if everything goes well.

I was dealing with this every day for 3 years, ovulation tests, noting discharge, to the point of irritation! And then when I shifted my focus and threw myself into my work and stopped doing ovulation tests, I got pregnant. It's so unreal. I feel good, few complaints, and I'm happy.

I just wanted to get this off my chest!

Love,

Congratulations Lauren92, that's so nice!!! How are you feeling otherwise? No trouble with pregnancy ailments?

As long as you don’t do anything too crazy on your ski trip, it should be fine. Your little one is still very small, and I’m not sure off the top of my head whether they’re still behind your pubic bone at your current stage. You’d definitely be wise to check with your midwife. If that’s the case, they’re extra protected. Congratulations on your pregnancy!

Thank you Nova! I'm also incredibly happy but still a bit hesitant about daydreaming and talking about it with my husband, etc. One more week and then the ultrasound.
I have few complaints. Occasional nausea, sore breasts sometimes, and tiredness, but otherwise I feel good.
We'll wait for the ultrasound regarding skiing; if I'm further along than I think, I won't do it. Heard tonight that if the snow isn't good enough, they'll go higher than 2100 meters, so that won't work for me.
