Where do I put the crib?

Hi everyone,
This week the baby room is being delivered, so I'm wondering if there are really specific things I should pay attention to? I'd like to put the crib in our bedroom first. But is that a good idea? Isn't it better for the baby to sleep directly in their own room? All tips are welcome!

    Hi Yoni,

You should of course do what feels right for you. My 20-month-old son still sleeps in our room in his crib rather than in his toddler bed in his own room. He does sleep there sometimes, but mostly when we're lucky and he sleeps through the night

I don't know if you plan to breastfeed, but if you do, it's quite handy to have your baby in your room. It's nice to be able to check on your little one whenever you want and hear them breathing, etc. Especially during the first six months, which I believe is also recommended.

    Good luck!!

That's totally true, it's about what feels comfortable for you. In any case, for the first while until they start sleeping through the night, it's recommended to have them in the parents' bedroom so you can pick up on hunger cues in time. However, there's nothing wrong with letting your little one sleep in their own room right away. My little one slept in her own room from the start because the cats come into our bedroom, and I didn't want to disrupt my old, dementia-stricken cat's routine for a few weeks or months. He yowls all night if anything changes, and then no one sleeps I solved that initial period by placing the baby monitor by my bed, so I could hear her too. And now I can hear her even without it; she sleeps in the room next to ours, and I'm a very light sleeper.
