Demanding foster child

Hi mamas,
Just a few questions about the requirements and screening for foster care and the Certificate of Good Conduct.
What exactly do they check? All your accumulated files? Doctor, psychologist, etc.?
I received psychological help 5 years ago because someone touched me in inappropriate places when I was a child. I’ve since completed and closed that chapter 5 years ago. I don’t have any issues or problems from it anymore, but could this be a reason for our family to be deemed unsuitable as a foster family?

I’d love to hear from someone who knows more about this. It would be a shame if I were rejected as a foster parent because of this, especially since I’m really looking forward to it!!

I read a story about a woman who had been caring for her grandchildren for 1.5 years. But she was rejected when she really wanted to be recognized as a foster parent. The story can be read online. She was rejected because she had a suicide attempt in her past. I don't know if they're lumping all her childhood traumas together, but otherwise, it could be that you'd also be rejected for that reason.

That's awesome that you want to become a foster mom so much! Really lovely! We're also planning to start the course soon! I don't have any personal experience with how you're assessed. I read that you've been through something, but that you're completely done with therapy and no longer affected by it. I find that quite different from the aforementioned suicide attempt in the past. But I don't know how they think about it at foster care. I would be honest and say that it's really in the past if I were you. And if your psychologist can confirm that, I think it'll be fine! But I don't know how they assess it and so on. I really hope you'll become a foster mom!!
    Love, Emily
