Ovulation test is totally weird

hey hey dear ladies I'm so confused! I bought ovutest strips from the Action. I've been testing for 4-5 days now and every time there's a thin line and then a really thick one. I don't get it anymore. Am I fertile now or should I wait? My last period was from 01-01-17 to 06-01-17. My cycle length is 31 days, maybe a bit longer. Can someone help????

    Can you post a photo?
On an ovulation test, you normally have a thick line (the control line) and next to it comes your test line. When you've hit your LH peak, the test line is as dark as the control line and ovulation is coming up. If your test line is lighter, it's best to keep testing until it gets darker.

If your cycle is 31 days, you should ovulate today or tomorrow. If your cycle turns out to be longer, it might still take a few days. Ovulation occurs about 14 days before your period.

Anyway, I'd make it really cozy with your husband this week!

    Hi Guusje,
That’s indeed weird and confusing. Same here. One clear line and one slightly fainter one. Otherwise, I do have symptoms of ovulation, lower back pain, etc.
Maybe those physical symptoms can be a guide for you?
    Good luck!!

I was lounging around yesterday evening, just lay there for 3 hours straight. I suddenly got a stomach cramp and my left ovary was hurting a bit too... I'm not buying any more ovulation test strips from Action anymore. I think they're negative every time; it's never been positive. :/ Really tough.

Yeah, I get you. I also find those tests pretty inconvenient. I'll wait out this round, and if not, I'll just grab some Clearblue tests. Maybe they're clearer or better.

I also threw out the test strips from Action and KV. Too unclear. Clear Blue costs more, but at least you know for sure!

Yeah, I think so? I'm going to buy some others too???? That's so stressful

I got mine from Sensitest. They work well.
Just read the instructions carefully – it's best to do a test every day at the same time, and don't use morning urine.
And as already mentioned, the test line should be at least as dark or darker than the control line.
After that, your ovulation will follow.
    Good luck!

Hi Gusje, I use the Ovutest strips from Sensitest, and when they're dark, I follow up with a Clear Blue test. You can see this in my profile picture. I'm super happy with Sensitest. I've been testing with Sensitest for 4 months now, and every month when the line gets darker and matches the control line, my Clear Blue always shows a solid smiley face, which means you've hit your LH peak.

Hi Denise, I don't know what to think anymore! I guess I give up... but thanks anyway for your info! And wishing you lots of success too

Thank you so much, Gusje! I'm on the waitlist in round 20... so exciting! Have you been at it for a while, Gusje? I've also had my ovulation 5 days earlier or a few days later, so your tests might still turn positive. Plus, your LH peak might only last a few hours. Maybe if you keep testing, you'll catch your LH peak.

Nope, I haven't been at it for long, just started this month Tried last month but then there was no LH peak again so I lost track... I'm not going to use them anymore, trying a different brand tomorrow for sure I'm normally very fertile according to the calculator but yeah! Let's wait and see and do lots of chores for sure
