Hi ladies,

I'm a young lady of 29... My partner and I are trying to conceive.
We'd really like to go on a carefree holiday together first, just the two of us, for the last time!
Our plan was to stop the pill after the holiday... I'm personally worried it might take too long to get pregnant.
So I thought, what if I stop before the holiday! A month earlier... I'm now in my withdrawal week and would have had my period 1-2 weeks before the holiday. But I'm afraid I'll get my period while on holiday, could that happen?
As I said, we'd really like to have our last carefree holiday WITHOUT a period too haha

It depends on your body. It's possible that your period will come as expected and your cycle will return to normal right away, but it might also take a while, and with a bit of bad luck, it could even fall during your vacation. Especially in the first month or two after stopping the pill, there's no guarantee.

I find it so conflicting.. I'd like to stop the pill a bit earlier but I also don't want to be on my period while on vacation if it turns out to be a sun, sea, and beach holiday ????

Then I'd say, take it easy after your vacation. Maybe it'll take a little while, but does that one extra month really make a big difference??? I don't have personal experience with getting pregnant right after stopping the pill, since I had an IUD, but with that I never had control over whether or when I'd get my period again. Nothing worse than being on vacation and feeling blah.

I think it's probably the wisest choice.. even though I'd rather stop sooner haha.
Just wait until after the holidays then!

I can tell you that I stopped the pill and 2 weeks later it was immediately successful. I'm now 14 weeks happily pregnant, so anything can happen hihi good luck and have a nice holiday!!

Exactly, nice to wait. My partner and I had also decided this year to start after the vacation. But in the end, we went ahead anyway; because we thought it wouldn't work out the first time. And then the day before the vacation, I found out that it had worked. Super, of course, but I was sick the whole vacation and couldn't enjoy it. Quite a shame for such a last time together

I'll just wait patiently until after the holidays... it's gonna be tough haha, we're not going until June.
I'm also one of those unlucky people who would have morning sickness and stuff, and yeah, that would be a shame for the holiday.
Hopefully it'll be quick for me too, but I'm afraid.
I've been on the pill since I was 14 and I'm now 29.. But let's hope so!
