Pregnant?

Hi,
I've been on the pill for years and never forget to take it. Last month I got my period around December 7th. Because I was super busy at work, I decided to skip the pill break and keep taking it. Since Friday, I've been having a lot of stomach trouble. Gurgling intestines and weird noises. I didn't trust it, so I started a pill-free week (took the last pill on Saturday night). After that, I had nights where I couldn't sleep. I was afraid I might be pregnant. Yesterday (Monday) I took a pregnancy test, and it said I wasn't pregnant. I get nauseous sometimes, and my stomach is still gurgling. Also, I've barely eaten for a few days.
Is the test from yesterday (Monday) reliable, or could I still be pregnant?

Did you get your period during your pill-free week? Normally, you should. I took my pill pretty regularly, and if I ever missed a few, I’d take my break and always got my period.
It’s also flu and stomach bug season... If you want to be sure, you can always go to your GP for a blood test.

You don't even need to take a break week with the pill. If you haven't missed any pills, you should still be protected against pregnancy even if you skip the break and keep taking them continuously. The bleeding you get during the break week is actually a fake period—it's just there to shed the uterine lining, because normally there's no ovulation when you're on the pill. If you keep taking the pill continuously without a break, you might get breakthrough bleeding because your body sometimes wants to shed the lining anyway. With a break week, you can control when that happens.
